Purpose
Define, develop and steer the holistic Design language and strategy for Core Product.
Your role is to secure and further develop the brand’s industry leading position. Based in the company’s headquarters in Herzogenaurach, you will lead design departments in Herzogenaurach, Vietnam and Shanghai, ensuring products are a visual communication of the brand values.
Key Accountabilities
• Develop and implement a long-term creative direction/vision/strategy for the business unit aligned with the overall Brand Creative Direction that will position adidas as the market leader in the value channel.
• Develop and implement a creative product strategy that will increase brand association and recognition.
• Develop a long-term innovation roadmap for the category together with AIT, BU, and the Advanced Team, and establish a plan for how to implement and transition products from advanced stages to inline.
• Proactively develop design concepts for new technologies and concepts, optimizing the ratio of authentic and inspirational design
• Act as a thought-leader and motivator for the larger design team, in regards to designing democratic product for the value channel, instilling pride in the BU.
• Lead and steer the BU creative vision toward strategic objectives and the business targets supporting the Division's and BU SBP
• Work collaboratively with other Heads of Design, Design Directors and Creative Direction to actively sharpen the adidas brand positioning and perception overall on a seasonal basis and in the respective BU.
• Establish a close working relationship with the respective Category heads in other Business Units
• Lead and steer design milestone meetings in cooperation with the design planning and marketing planning & processes team for the respective Category.
• Define adidas design standards for the holistic design team which ensures brand DNA throughout the category, across every consumer touchpoint
• Contribute to the development of the overall category marketing plan in cooperation with the Head of Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Sports Marketing for the category
• Oversee all design concepts and coach the team to defined standards and processes
• Lead and steer design process optimization, to ensure state of the art workflow
• Lead and coach a team of product Designers.
• Be up to date on consumers, cultural trends, sports culture and athletic findings
Authorities

• Staff most suitable persons in direct report positions as well as team members on lower levels
• Set personal objectives, guidelines and assess the team
• Develop functional and social skills of the team on and off the job
• Manage all reports as an integrated team by setting objectives, targets and guidelines to ensure smooth cooperation of all direct reports along all interfaces
• Identify and prepare talents in respective Category for career progression within the adidas organization

Qualifications
1. >10 years functional
2. > 8 years leadership experience
3. Degree in Design or related field
4. Fluent in English
