Core Description:
The Director of In-Store Strategic Planning & Logistics is responsible for leading a team to strategically lead and coordinate the planning and execution of all wall fixtures and in-store labor for all Coty Consumer Beauty. This position supports the field sales team and customer retailers by providing those fixtures and in-store labor necessary to establish a strong brand presence at the store level, thereby increasing sales throughout Coty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for timeline management, from Strategy to Execution for each brand. Effectively communicate key milestones and due dates to all partners internally and externally, and be very clear when there are changes to the expected delivery date. Work to close any gaps or change delivery expectations.
• Oversee graphic planning, and work on continuously improving processes for requisitioning and communicating changes. Ensure that planners act with urgency to any changes, and maintain strong partnerships with Purchasing, Creative/External Agencies and Marketing.
• Primary contact for all fixture, graphic and corrugate vendors to support the permanent merchandising process for all customers around planning, execution and continuous improvement.
• Lead team managing all in-store labor and leading strategic budget management
• Carefully review inventory after each season to make sure levels accurately reflect what was shipped. Work with Finance to continuously clean up and reduce inventory levels.
• Oversee the review the Fixture Requirement Schedule on a weekly basis and follow up on any past due or missing information. Issue weekly follow-ups to all internal and external partners.
• Review vendors on a regular basis (timing varies by vendor). Develop and complete analytics and dashboards in preparation for each meeting to review progress and identify opportunity areas. Maintain strong working relationships with all vendors and be knowledgeable about their company, as well as their role in the process.
• Achieve 100% on-time ship of Fixtures, while adhering to the policy on expediting and maintaining cost efficiencies overall. Involve the Transportation team as needed to plan shipments during peak production periods.
• Oversee replacements parts, the fixture ordering process and have a clearly defined customer contact strategy at each level in the process.
• The hiring, training, developing, and coaching of personnel is required. Establish periodic team and status meetings to review career planning, opportunity areas within the roles and special projects that align with future career paths.
Application Pre-Requisites:
• Bachelors degree, plus an MBA preferred
• 10+ years prior experience in consumer package goods sales environment, including team leadership, Sales or Trade Marketing, operations or supply chain is required. Exceptional computer skills, including extensive experience in Microsoft Office, are needed. Experience with SAP, Oracle and DLx is preferred.
Special skills required:
• Prior successful team management (> 4 team members)
• Must possess excellent analytical, interpretive, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of the consumer products industry, as well as best in class practices utilized in supply chain strategies within and without the industry, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems successfully.
• Demonstrates effective communication and negotiation skills to solve problems and gain agreement with and inform others, while targeting long-term objectives. Uses facts and data analysis to identify good options and make good decisions.
• Demonstrates and effectively applies consumer industry and cross-category knowledge and expertise
• Serves as liaison between customer, team counterparts and internal support team members to foster a culture of growth and collaboration
• Ability to use data and analytics to both drive company strategy and execute strategic objectives of brand groups
• Ability to present and influence effectively to senior management within the organization.
