What are key highlights of this role?
As one of our Digital IT Managers, you will report directly to the UKI Director of IT.
This position will act as a “go to” technical expert for the Digital and E-Business teams, serving as a primary IT point of contact for the Country CMO and Divisional Digital organizations within L’Oreal UKI.
In collaboration with the Digital teams, Executive Leadership and L’Oreal EMEA IT, this position will help deliver the strategy, planning and implementation of all key IT Digital initiatives for L’Oreal UKI. This includes, but is not limited to eCommerce (B2C, B2B, B2E), Omni-channel, Consumer CRM / insight analytics, Loyalty, Digital Asset Management (DAM), Product Information Management (PIM), Social Listening, eMarketing, Cyber-security and other digital Innovations focusing on helping deliver effective, high-quality, consumer centric solutions in full partnership with the Division / Brand Digital Teams. This role will also help evaluate external providers and influence the Group digital IT solutions ensuring they are optimized for the UK needs.
The UK is made up of 4 semi-autonomous business units and this role will ensure the best IT solutions are captured by all Divisions to maximize simplicity and ensure mistakes are avoided.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a primary IT contact with digital and e-Business teams on IT projects
• Collaborate with the EMEA IT Digital and Group CDO teams on the effective implementation of the L’Oreal Group digital strategy and solutions.
• Provide technical insight to the digital teams in the areas of digital and e-commerce strategy, planning, evaluating, prototyping, security and implementing
• Research, estimate, qualify potential technical vendors and secure technical solutions in partnership with the other digital team members
• Provide technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for digital projects from the definition phase through to implementation.
• Collaborate in implementing from an IT perspective, the digital marketing strategies supporting the Division / Brand Digital roadmap
• Exhibit a broad understanding of the IT backbone of digital marketing and e-Business systems, leading industry trends and project delivery to enable the deployment of effective, efficient, competitive digital systems solutions across the different consumer touch points
• Acquire solid understanding of the “big picture” Division / Brand Digital and e-commerce programs, working closely with each level of the organization
• Maintain close awareness of internal customer’s priorities and activities and how they relate to overall objectives.
• Develop and manage strong relationship with digital and e-Business teams, other IT teams and external vendors
• Facilitate web hosting delivery (through Group hosting partners) and ongoing solutions support
• Ensure that proposed solutions are aligned with the L’Oreal IT standards and strategy
• Own incident management, release management, acceptance and service governance of local ecommerce websites.
• Stay informed on new digital solution trends and contribute to the IT digital strategy definition
• Facilitate best practice sharing across Divisions to deliver best value for money and best solutions
• Influence the Group Digital IT solutions to deliver the best Digital IT answers for the UK
Preferred Qualifications
• Highly effective digital technology advisor who consistently delivers high-quality business solutions
• In dept experience working within digital technology teams, potentially within an agency or consulting organization
• Proven experience with engaging in, planning, managing and delivering Digital and e-commerce projects from inception to launch
• In-depth knowledge and experience of digital marketing and E-Commerce IT technologies that are currently significant in the Digital Marketing industry
• Inquisitive and curious, who seeks to help optimize digital activities within L’Oreal UKI via IT technological solutions.
• Must be able to “think outside the box” and come up with creative and right sized solutions, while being aligned with the L’Oreal Digital technical strategy and standards
• Strong and inspiring Digital IT expert as perceived both by technology and business staff; able to balance the role of technical advisor with urgency to deliver results
• Builds and establishes credibility and trust; adds value and influences, combined with the ability to demonstrate passion to drive change
• Ability to contribute strategically as well as tactically
• Executes with strong collaboration and communication across all areas of the business and IT
• Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is a must
• Strong organizational, time management, communication, process and problem-solving skills
• A general knowledge of business, marketing, and technology fields.
• Can communicate with authority within IT communities, yet also other stakeholders
• Ability to work closely with Security and Legal teams to ensure our digital solutions adhere to industry best practices
• Working with Procurement, demonstrate the ability to clearly gather business requirements and translate these into RFP’s for new projects, contract negotiation and third party supplier management
Required Technical Skills
• Clear understanding of web technologies like Java, DotNet, PHP, Ruby, SQL, MYSQL, MSSQL, HTML 5, Javascript, IIS, Apache, Performance fine tuning techniques, Flash, AJAX, Mobile platform, Web services, XML
• Experience in e-commerce delivery (B2C, B2B, B2E) and Omni-channel strategies
• Experience working with content management systems; DemandWare, Magento, SiteCore
• Experience in Consumer CRM / insight analytics, Loyalty
• Experience in Product Information Management (PIM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM)
• Experience in Social Listening,
• Experience in Web hosting, Cyber-security and solution monitoring best practices
• Experience managing integration of websites and digital solutions into SAP backend environments
• Experience of Data migration
• Experience with PSP implementations
