Bumble and bumble is a fast-growing, luxury hair care brand located in NYC. It started as a NYC salon and evolved into a multi-million dollar brand comprised of 2 salons, a product company that houses a strong in-house creative agency, a direct sales force, and a university for hairdressers and salon owners.

Position Summary: The Director Retail - Sephora is a sales management position responsible for the development, sales performance and relationships of Bb. Sephora, Sephora Canada, SiJCP, and Sephora.com. The Director Retail will also be responsible for expansion into new Sephora doors.
Responsibilities:
• Achieve a high level of performance on the sales goals assigned:
◦ Meet weekly and monthly retail sell-through targets across all Sephora segments – Sephora US, Sephora Canada, SiJCP, Sephora.com, and Sephora.ca via aligned sell-through plans designed to fuel core and maximize innovation.
◦ Drive end-to-end, coordinated execution across all Sephora touch-points (in-store, dotcom and mobile)
• Sephora Relationships:
◦ Negotiate with internal and external Sephora partners on brand programs, brand expression, and any other areas related to Bumble and bumble in order to deliver sell-through targets
◦ Strategic interface, collaboration and strategy execution with Marketing, Field Sales, Education, and Creative including attendance and presentations at key Sephora meetings.
◦ Develop strong, positive relationships with Sephora Corporate and Store Teams (including Merchants, Marketing, Education, Key Store DM, DEMs, etc.)
• Internal Relationships:
◦ Sales
Collaborate with VP NA Sales on Sephora strategy especially on programming to deliver weekly/monthly sell-through plans for each Sephora business segment (B&M, dotcom, & mobile) and also annual retail calendars, forecasts, budgets, and plans.
Partner with ED Field Sales to ensure excellent field execution of strategies and plans including aligned routing guidance and RBC call cycle + evaluation of retail store coverage effectiveness.
Collaborate on training of field sales to ensure in-store best practices are executed and to ensure optimal in-store productivity
Participate in Field Sales Gatherings, Regional Events, and DOS meetings as needed
Regular market visits to ensure short and long term excellent execution, grow field capability, and build best in class relationships
◦ Marketing / Education
Strategic interface with Marketing and Education to ensure plans are commercially viable, deliver forecast, and drive hair category and brand thought leadership for Bb.
Partner with Marketing on Sephora In the Kitchen and other key business planning meetings to ensure commercial strategies are incorporated into the upfront design process through to in-store and online execution.
Collaborate with Marketing and Education on strategy, annual retail calendars, forecasts, budgets, and plans
Lead and/or collaborate with Marketing and Education to design, align, and execute best in class Sephora events (e.g. SDCA, SBES, Corporate Trainings, etc.)
◦ Finance / Planning
Partner with Finance to ensure plans are in place to meet forecast requirements and lead internal teams to evolve plans if gaps are identified which must happen well before initiatives are executed.
Manage open to buy and in store stock levels with Buyer, Merchant, and Internal Retail Planners
Monitor channel and door productivity to look for growth opportunities or prevent lost business
Maintain and control fiscal budget for seminars, T&E, and Bb.Retail Specialist Program.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Strong Sephora / Multi-Specialty Prestige Beauty Experience
• Exceptional trade marketing / commercial capabilities and fundamental selling skills.
• Strong presentation and communication skills as well as ability to work with cross-departmental colleagues
• Customer service oriented
• Must be detail-oriented, well-organized and flexible and a strategic thinker
• Must be comfortable at managing communications across multiple departments and time-zones
• Inspiring and engaging facilitator
• Extensive travel required
Education and Experience:
• 8+ years’ experience in retail sales and sales leadership (prestige and/or department store)
• Field sales and Salon industry experience a plus
