POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Global Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting the research, development and implantation of global brand and communication strategy for Sally Hansen Nail Color. He/she will support the successful launch of products, which he/she has overseen throughout the entire development process. He/she will be responsible for the effective management of the marketing, advertising and promotional activities of the organization. The individual will be responsible for planning, forecasting and analyzing the cosmetic business thus proceeding with business recommendations relevant to the overall growth of the category. He/she is extremely versatile and knows his/her market and consumers better than anyone else. He/she is a collaborative member of his/her team and is highly involved in the product process with an enthusiastic attitude.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Brand equity and positioning
◦ Support activation of brand strategy
• Brand portfolio management
◦ Responsible for management of all products within portfolio
• Global Trade Marketing
◦ Collaborate with Global Trade Marketing team to launch all new products and collections in global markets
◦ Evaluate and customize local market execution of new launches as needed
• New product development
◦ Concept development and testing
# Generate new product ideas
# Perform ongoing market research
# Work with Manager to identify innovative brand ideas for the brand plan
# Review all new trend opportunities for potential new products
◦ Gap assessments
# Develop an in-depth understanding of competitive product introductions/promotions and launches worldwide
# Analyze industry/competitive trends, perform SWOT analysis and communicate findings to brand team
# Recommend and execute new marketing initiatives with team
◦ New product financial planning / P&L
# Evaluate financials and volume projections for all new product launches and limited edition collections.
# Responsible for creating market sizing and evaluating market launch potential
# Manage all financial variables (P&L) to meet specific sales and profit goals
◦ Product/Formula development
# Collaborate with R&D, NPD and all cross-functional teams to launch new products
◦ Package design
# Manage development of packaging, updates and phase-in
◦ Naming / claims
# Manage development of franchise names and claims
# Create shade names for nail color collections and new launches
# Work with legal and R&D as necessary for all approvals
◦ MAF
# Issue all MAFs
◦ Marketing Activation
# Responsible for initiating all new product codes
◦ GATE Review meetings
# Prepare for monthly gate review meetings, including management of all documentation and financial input into Anaplan and NPASS
• Sales materials
◦ Manage development of global template for sales materials including marketing folders for all programs
• Advertising / Media
◦ Assist in development of advertising creative briefs
◦ Manage all creative assets as part of COTY library
◦ Assist in management of ongoing advertising plans for brand (s)
◦ Assist with any and all needs for photo and video shoots
• Digital marketing
◦ Support development of global digital marketing strategy and creative / execution guidelines
◦ Manage website and digital marketing initiatives
◦ Responsible for Internet activities of core brands
• PR
◦ Responsible for ongoing Public Relations initiatives including review of all PR materials (ie. Press releases, newsletters, etc.)
• Promotions / POS / permanent merchandising
◦ Develop launch display and collateral guidelines
◦ Work with global creative and merchandising teams to develop all assets and guidelines
◦ Continually evaluate promotion program effectiveness in order to learn from worldwide marketing efforts and contribute to the improvement of future programs
• Brand reviews
◦ Support creation of Brand Day presentations as needed
• Business performance tracking
◦ Track and manage key brand financial and non-financial metrics including monthly Nielsen reports
◦ Create ad-hoc analyses of nail color portfolio
◦ Manage post-mortem of key launches including what worked, didn’t work and key lessons for future initiatives
Other Responsibilities and Skills:
• Strong professional outlook and interpersonal skills to interface with all marketing support teams in order to actualize marketing programs. This includes on-going project management with Product Development, R&D Packaging, NPD, Creative, Displays, Sales, Financial, Research and Operations teams
• Communicate and work effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally
• Drive to elevate brand performance to the next level including new, different, and creative approaches
• Translate creative ideas into achievable results
• Contribute to a positive team climate; supervise and develop subordinates including team intern
NUMBER OF SUBORDINATES: Intern
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Relevant Job Knowledge)
• 4 year undergraduate Degree, or equivalent, MBA preferred but not required
• 2-4 years professional experience in a sales/marketing environment
