THE ROLE
To support Dorothy Perkins implement their brand strategy.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
• Delivering the VM proposition in stores working in collaboration with Buying, Merchandising and Creative
• Ensure a strong commercial approach to VM with an understanding of density, product adjacencies and customer flow in stores
• Be an aspirational leader to the national VM field team- with a flair in developing talent and building success
• Ensure effective two way communication between Retail and Head Office
• Developing and trialling new national VM concepts and proactively feeding back to the Brand
• Work closely with the VM Operations and VM Visual Managers to ensure the consistent implementation of VM guidelines to a high standard
• Conduct research on current and future trends to influence the visual merchandising/styling and interiors
• Development of new ideas to improve floor layouts for all stores and drive the mega store/external businesses differential
• Set up seasonal model store to be reviewed and signed off by the Head of Brand Visual Merchandising
• Ability to think creatively and develop the full potential from projects , taking advantage of new developments and technology
• Working closely with Store planning to review layout planning and VM equipment for new store openings and refits
• Working closely with Learning and Development to meet the training and development needs of the Field VM team
• Developing and writing content for training programs to progress VM talent in store to Area Visual Specialist level
• Facilitating quarterly VM meetings to review current processes and to update on Brand strategy
• Managing the upkeep of VM diaries and calendars to ensure VM resource is prioritised
• Managing new store openings/model store/refits process from store set up to Area roll out ensuring stores open to company standards and within timeframes
• Work in collaboration with Area Managers to ensure the Brand VM vision is delivered in stores
• Hold inspiring Regional/National/Visual training events
• Support on International visual training sessions based in the UK and Overseas
MUST HAVES
• An inspirational highly motivated and results driven manager with the ability to lead from a distance
• Highly skilled visual merchandiser with an eye for detail
• Fashion background
• Experience in mannequin dressing/styling/launching window schemes
• Combines creative ideas with a practical commercial approach
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of word/Power point/Excel, working knowledge of in-design and Photoshop
• Can perform under pressure and operate in a fast paced environment, maintaining the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels
• Motivated, committed and driven
• Flexible and reactive
• Strong written presentation skills, required for effective communications and guideline delivery
• Extensive UK and potentially International travel as the business requires
• Periods of overnight work for guideline/seasonal and new store set ups
