Urban Decay is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Visual Merchandising, Graphic Designer will serve as a collaborative team member, visual translator and designer on all visual merchandising projects. The Graphic Designer will directly work under the Art Director, as well as work in tandem with a team of Senior Designers and production team to create concepts, comps, layouts and final art in the Merchandising Department. This role is responsible for overall design, creation and lead on all visual displays domestically and internationally. He/she will establish a strong brand identity using our graphic standards and work to maintain Urban Decay's look and feel throughout our merchandising units and retail sites. The Graphic Designer will gather design requirements and assets as well as manage timelines to ensure creative is delivered and approved on time, and achieve quality standards. Must be able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
CONCEPT/CREATION
• Develop, manage design, create concepts, comps, layout and final print visuals for seasonal updates for multiple retailers.
Maintain a high level of design-related knowledge, including current trends, design theories, methods, processes and/or issues.
Rendering spaces and design direction to be used in presentations and retail meetings.
Assist in concepts and mock-ups of all visual displays and POP for multiple retailers.
Maintain working calendars and timelines to ensure timely and cost-effective rollouts.
Work closely with the Art Director & Production Design Manager to maintain necessary timelines, design direction and processes.
Ensure that all designs and specifications are proofed and approved to meet timelines
PRINTING/PRODUCTION
• Work closely with the Art Director & Merchandising Traffic Manager to maintain necessary timelines, design direction and processes.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:
• Highly creative, multi-faceted designer with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, time management and problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative work environment and as a team with all departments.
Professionally prepare/package files for print (Link files, follow file naming & storage protocols, etc).
Illustration and building mock up is necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OR REQUIREMENTS
May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education/Experience/ Licenses or Certificates
• Four year degree in Graphic Design strongly preferred OR equivalent experience.
Retail merchandising design experience, a plus.
3+ years previous experience in a similar design position.
Must be familiar with basic printing, digital/offset, and Pantones. Specialty ink & treatment knowledge is a big plus.
Software
• Adobe Creative Suite Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign in a basic Mac system/software.
Basic MS Office Software.
Internet savvy.
