HSN is a multi-state multi-channel retailer seeking a professional Senior Manager – Merchandising Systems. This position is responsible for data management and manipulation, including all aspects of system/process changes and data integrity. This person is accountable for data feeds from multiple enterprise-wide systems, the reconciliation of data between systems and all data mining/analysis required to ensure accuracy. S/he also will be part of system design requirements, documentation, report design and analytics. S/he will be responsible for designing and developing business reporting.
A Day in the Life
• Manage system design, development and reconciliation of data for enterprise wide applications.
• Responsible for all IR User Acceptance Testing (UAT) related to merchandising and planning.
• Accountable for validating system processes and reports developed by IT, ensuring functional requirements, approved by executive management, are met.
• Uses a variety of programming languages ( SQL, Access, Business Objects, Toad, Excel, etc.) as necessary to manipulate data from existing Corporate Systems, primarily IR (Reporting Repository), MDM (Marketing Data-mart), Retek (Item and Purchase Order System), SPT (Show Planning Tool) , MPI (Merchandise Planning Integration) and DSP (Draft Show Plans) to analyze business problems that cross disciplines.
• This position is responsible for all of the programming required to complete the analysis, including the extraction of data from various sources. For some analyses extensive data preparation may be required to combine data from disparate systems.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement through automation, develop actionable plans and work with IT partners to implement process change.
• Solidify the IT partnership by participating in IR status meetings, managing meeting minutes, gathering and prioritizing data change requests from the team. Preparing IT change request forms and all other IT documentation for the

• Responsible for design and development of ad-hoc and production business reporting.

Must Haves
• 5+ years programming and/or Business Analysis
• BA/BS or comparable work experience/training.
• Proficient in SQL
• Advanced Excel skills
• Proficient in Report writing tool (Business Objects, Crystal Reports etc.)
• Ability to program against multiple disparate systems to produce a single coherent analysis and data validation
• Understanding of relational databases
• Excellent project management skills
• Must be detail oriented and double check own work for accuracy
• Willingness to learn
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Business Acumen and strategic thinking
