Responsibilities
JOB MISSION:
The responsibility of this role is to establish dramatically improved tactical coordination/execution of global ecommerce marketing, and drive a coordinated global ecommerce marketing strategy. As New Balance strives toward greater global brand consistency this role will represent the needs of rapidly growing ecommerce businesses around the world in the marketing planning process, as well as assume primary responsibility for the flawless distribution and execution of global ecommerce stories across owned and distributor ecommerce markets, with a particular emphasis on the US, China, Japan, and Europe.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Global Ecommerce Game Plan:Manage and improve the process and tools for translating the Global Game Plan into an actionable Global Ecomm Game Plan, to give ecommerce markets far out visibility into the global stories, timing, and asset delivery. This includes substantial coordination with the global marketing, global merchandising, regional marketing, and regional merchandising teams, on an ongoing basis. The Global Ecommerce Marketing Manager will serve as the conduit between the global marketing teams and the regional ecommerce needs, with accountability to the global ecommerce strategy.
• Asset Production and Distribution: Assume primary responsibility for ensuring timely and flawless execution and delivery to the markets of ecommerce assets. This includes working closely with the creative production teams to ensure proper assets are created, and delivered the markets with sufficient lead time to execute strategy on-site, as well as communicating delivery and changes with the regional markets. In addition, particular focus and special attention will be given to the execution of Key Global Energy Moments (e.g. major product launches) during the marketing calendar.
• Ecommerce User Experience Strategy:Develop strategies for unique digital interpretations of global marketing campaigns. Help New Balance move from executing digitally, to thinking digitally. This includes influencing and injecting the global marketing planning processes with a digital point of view, to deliver unique consumer experiences that drive commerce.
KEY CUSTOMERS
Will work directly with the following internal departments and business units; Marketing Operations, Marketing channel leads (met athlete, lifestyle, football, etc), Merchandising, and region/country Ecomm leaders in Japan, China, Europe and the U.S.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
• Key Global Energy Moment Adoption and Sell-Thru: Market-by-market adoption and execution of key stories, as well as sell-thru of product for key stories
• Game Plan Development:Smooth and timely development of Global Ecomm Game Plan, including improving flow of input and communications from both global teams and regional teams
• Asset Distribution Operational Effectiveness:On-time and complete delivery of appropriate assets associated with Global Ecomm Game Plan
• Business Results: Top line growth for global ecommerce businesses, as well as shape of the business improvement (mix of categories/products)
• Site Performance:Improvement in site performance metrics such as traffic, conversion, session length, average order value, units per transaction, etc.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The role will jointly report to the International Ecommerce Business Lead (responsible for overall ecommerce strategy and business results) and the Senior Manager Digital (responsible for global digital creative and social media). Matrix reporting relationships with Sr. Manager Digital and/or Director International Marketing
Qualifications
• 10 years’ experience with a deep understanding in ecommerce marketing planning and execution
• Highly organized, punctual, process-oriented – thrives off of “the trains running on time”
• Ability to work cross-functionally, and influence groups beyond the ecommerce teams
• Global disposition, including capacity to learn from, and adjust to, regional cultural differences
• Calculated risk taker – willingness to challenge the status quo and push to grow the importance and influence of global ecommerce
• Results-oriented, and focused on growing the business and growing the brand in tandem
• Brand Steward – constant focus on what is best for the brand, and how to push New Balance to show up as the best version of itself
