Job Description
Major Responsibilities
Provides dynamic, visible and inspirational leadership to positively impact business initiatives, direction, and vision for team and peers. Accountable for business results, profit & loss and executing key initiatives. Brings a track record in managing a successful business and proven experience in strategic sales and business planning. Guides and leads the overall development of US sales long range business plans.
Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets
Manage, train and develop the US wholesale, retail and ecom teams
Achieve goals and strategies set forth in the strategic plan, including enhancing and building account relationships, building on distribution and segmentation strategies, seasonal Go to Market and growth strategies and development of the wholesale activation strategies
Develop USA strategic sales plan across all distribution points to align with SWL's and VF’s strategic initiatives and financial targets
Participate in LT activities, including: Strategy alignment and future direction, succession planning and performance management, project and investment prioritization
Oversees the current SmartWool partner relationships as well as being able to identify and build on new SmartWool business opportunities including maximizing channels and new markets
Partners with Product, Operations, Brand, Finance, Global Sales and other departments to ensure all process, strategic and financial goals are being met
• Manage project development from initiation to closure.
• Be accountable for project results along with Initiative Owner.
• Work with initiative owner and stakeholders to complete and maintain RACI document outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing.
• Complete work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task.
• Provide a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed.
• Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders.
• Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members.
• Facilitate milestone meetings and other meetings critical to the progress of the Initiative.
• Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle.
• Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with project change request forms.
• Track and report on Initiative milestones and provide status reports to sponsor.
• Lead, coach, and motivate Initiative team members on a proactive basis.
• Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-Initiative evaluation to determine how well results were achieved.
• Develop tools and best practices for Initiative management and execution.
• Safely crash unsuccessful or re-prioritized projects.
• Ensure all project documents are safely archived following project completion.
• Experience:
• 7 years’ work experience in the retail industry
• 2-3 years’ work experience in project or consulting.
• Demonstrated leadership managing people.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Strategic, operational, and technical marketing & management skills.
• Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments
• Education:
• University degree or college diploma in business or a related field.
• PMI Certification is a major asset.
• Skills:
• Familiarity with project management tools and/or software packages.
