Description
The Materials Planning Director serves a critical role in driving the vision for material excellence spanning all of Nike's Global Footwear. This position will manage and oversee the global materials planning process from initial concept through commercialization and production. The Materials Planning Director will lead teams dedicated to materials excellence and heads up quality assurance for materials, locations, time, and quantity. As the Material Planning Director, you'll drive an innovative vision for speed to market execution in alignment to demand and location forecasts. In a global setting, this role will play an integral role across key vendor relationships and cross-functional Nike teams.
Key Attributes & Responsibilities:
-Drives the end to end material planning process for global Footwear.
-Lead the planning portion of the Material excellence triad; which also includes material development and sourcing.
-Responsible for developing and maintaining a collaborative relationship between the material development and sourcing communities.
-Liaise between Global Footwear demand and supply planning and sourcing, footwear material suppliers, liaison offices, and footwear factories.
-Responsible for managing, interpreting and communicating forecast information to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to footwear finished goods factories.
-Lead materials analytics team to ensure reporting and metrics are accurately defined and measured.
-Drive a vision to focus on constrained and long lead time material planning to elevate our ability to support improved finished execution.
-Drive an agenda for a more responsive supply chain for materials planning to enable quick to market execution.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's Degree in Business, Product, Materials or a related discipline
-8+ years of direct people management or supervision
-Experience managing budgets and performance management
-Experience in Footwear, Retail, or Apparel a plus
