Our world class Product team is responsible for ensuring that our customer’s journey is seamless across all of our platforms and designed and executed to high standards. Focusing heavily on UX & Digital Design, the teams are currently split across our two head offices in London and Porto. Working across 3 main verticals, Front Office , Backoffice and Mobile they have helped to create the iconic ‘Farfetch’ look and feel. They’re true ambassadors of our business and ensure they’re always at the forefront of the latest technology, even creating most of the platforms that we use from scratch; they truly demonstrate our ‘Be Revolutionary’ value in everything they do.
The Role:

This is a unique opportunity to lead the discovery, creation and evolution of a visual design language for all of the back office products. Upon its creation, you will champion and help to evolve a design toolkit as part of our team as a fully fledged, end-to-end product designer.
You will be a talented digital creative, able to ground your ideas in solid design theory and evidence-based rationale. You will help bring the wonders of solid typography, colour theory and the finer points of interaction design to our team’s output.
You will be a creative thinker and technical problem solver who is excited to design the internal tools that solve our unique business needs. This can range from creating an interface for our boutiques to process the orders they receive, to a tool that controls the pricing of their products.
Ideally you’re a hacker – a coder and interaction design expert. You love to prototype and iterate – taking on board the needs of the business and the team.
What You’ll do:
• Taking direction from the Creative Design Manager, lead the discovery, creation and evolution of a visual design language for all of our back office products
• Produce a toolkit that makes the new visual design language easily applicable the output of the whole back office team
• Produce intuitive, innovative and delightful user experiences for various back-office products
• Work collaboratively within an Agile process with; other UX designers, digital designers, product owners, project managers, UI and back end developers
• Create solutions that incorporate all of the elements of a great experience while being within style guidelines to meet brand objectives
• Define and communicate the UX direction using appropriate tools and deliverables to describe intent
• Champion user experience and advocate the best design for our end users
• Bring inspiring ideas and motivation to an energetic and collaborative team
Who You Are:
• Strong experience as a digital product designer
• BA/BSc/MA in HCI, Information Systems, Computer Science, Graphic Design or similar preferred
• Proven experience leading and delivering a visual design toolkit
• Experience working on back office products e.g. an intranet
• Experience working in fashion, e-commerce and/or a digital creative agency a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able and willing to travel to other Farfetch offices when required (primarily in Portugal)
• Be curious about how things work and have a passion for emerging technologies and all things interactive.
• Proficient in rapid prototyping
• Ideally have working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript
