Director, Visual Merchandising - Lancôme
Reports to:AVP, Store Design & Merchandising Lancôme
Objective:
The Director of Visual Merchandising will lead and manage the overall VM communications calendar, logistics, and process. This Director will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment where you will interact with cross-functional partners to ensure that Lancôme’s visual standards are continuously elevated. The position reports directly to the AVP, Store Design & Merchandising. The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to create Visual Merchandising guidelines and overall visual expression of the brand. They would be responsible for all operational deliverables in the merchandising timeline and for streamlining communication and processes throughout the development process. This would include, but would not be limited to, the following roles and responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
• Create Merchandising Directives and Planograms, work cross functionally with internal departments. This includes: Store Design, Visual, Creative, Sales Admin, and Marketing
• Develop and design VM guidelines for all retail partners
• Develop Planograms for product placement - on-going launch display units.
• Design and produce Planogram decks, floor plans and various recaps that are shared with store and internal teams
• Manage roll out of seasonal/ holiday VM guidelines, in store graphics – counter visual program and Transparency
• Partner with Store design and merchandise teams to develop VM concepts for in case and environment visual programs
• Work with the creative team to ensure on-time delivery of all creative assets.
• Actively participate in communication with internal teams to support Merchandise directives
• Develop understanding of brand direction to ensure in-store execution is on brand
• Format field team VM training guidelines and best practices for execution excellence & elevated merchandising
• Support Sales training & education – ongoing field training, conferences store visits
• Strategic oversight of budget, balancing brand and business initiatives
Experience
• Strong technical, communication and visual merchandising background
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Results oriented and action driven. Ability to take initiative, ownership and accountability for business Strong sense of teamwork and ability to multi-task
• Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate
Ideal Candidates Should Possess:
• 5 - 7 years of Visual Merchandising experience: Specialty and Department store retailer experience preferred
• Bachelor degree, preferably in Visual Design, Merchandising, Fine Arts or Interior Design
• Computer Skills - Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch up, InDesign, Excel and Microsoft office/ PowerPoint
• High level of Creativity (must be able to communicate, sketch, etc.)
• Strong Presentation skills
