What You’ll Do
This role will lead the product design group for Stitch Fix’s customer-facing software products. You’ll be a key advocate for great consumer-grade product design throughout the company and will report to the Head of Product Design within the engineering organization.
• Manage and mentor a team of UX designers to deliver & launch great design for our customer-facing software on native mobile, desktop, and mobile web
• Identify opportunities to improve how the Stitch Fix service works – from planning and making the case for a new technology or feature to identifying and fixing a usability issue with a widget
• Define and execute the UX strategy for our customer-facing digital products
• Help prioritize the overall customer-facing roadmap, working closely with the marketing team, visual design / brand team, engineers, and data scientists
• Identify and track key metrics that measure the success of the UX
• Help define and design A/B tests to improve user experience and key business metrics
• Lead great UX and product development process – research, brainstorming, iterative design and testing
What We’re Looking For
• You’re a fantastic visual and interaction designer with a track record of getting effective software into users’ hands
• A fundamentally user-centered, reality-based approach to product and UX design
• Strategic design practitioner – you hold yourself and your team’s designs accountable for meeting business metrics while also creating great consumer-grade user experiences
• Experience working on top-grade consumer or prosumer products
• Demonstrated ability to guide complex products from start to finish, select appropriate research and analytic methods to evaluate project success, prioritize features, iterate on features, and coordinate what needs to get done to deliver great user experience.
• Fantastic oral and written communication skills and an ability to persuasively present design work & research
• Ability to mentor and guide other designers to deliver terrific work; previous management experience a huge plus
• Strong research strategy skills – leveraging a variety of information-gathering techniques to get the right answers for the right stage of development
• Degree in human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, interaction design, communication design, or similar
• Design MBA or related product management experience is a huge plus
• Experience designing for multiple platforms, such as web, desktop client, mobile, TV, service design, and/or voice

Our design roles are oriented around user experiences. We support four major platforms: customer, styling, merchandising, and warehouse. We initiate and support cross-product projects. Stitch Fix has a user-centered culture and we help surface user research to the teams who use it to make decisions. The team is currently small, so we're looking top-notch designers to help us shape design process within the company.
