Description
Position Summary
The Manager of Engineering is responsible for managing internal reports in creating construction documents for the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing disciplines.
Qualifications
• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical engineering from a ABET University
• Minimum 8+ years of MEP engineering design experience
• Must be multi-disciplinary and have strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, & Controls systems
• PE certification preferred
• Experience selecting and specifying HVAC equipment based on ROI
• Knowledge of HVAC Controls strategies and sequences
• Strong AutoCAD skills required
• Ability to read blueprints
• Strong project management skills
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Collaborative, team player attributes
• Eye for detail
• Experience in a retail environment preferred
Responsibilities
• Training and mentoring of career level engineers
• Maintaining all MEP standards and processes
• Technical review of leasing documents
• Distribution of work load between internal engineers
• Estimating and negotiation of Engineering Fees
• Estimating and negotiation of HVAC Equipment and Controls
• Management of 3rd party A/E firms, HVAC Equipment Suppliers, Controls Suppliers and Commissioning Vendors
Additional Information
• 10% domestic and international travel will be required for this position
