In collaboration with the Senior Director of Promotions, the Senior Manager, Promotional Marketing will bring their passion and love for cosmetics in developing the Promotional Programs at Benefit Cosmetics. This role will be responsible for developing the strategies for all promotional programs and ensuring the programs support the long term plan. The role will collaborate with cross functional teams including but not limited to Innovation, Copy, Packaging, Planning, Purchasing, Art, Wholesale teams as well as international commercial markets in development of programs. This person will also liaison and partner with key global markets to ensure specific programs meet needs of business. The Senior Manager of Promotional Marketing will play a key role in helping to organize processes and contribute new ideas for Promotional Program. To be successful in this role, this person must have strong critical thinking skills, excellent attention-to-detail and be able to thrive in an ambiguous fast paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy/Marketing:
• Develop strategy for all promotional programs
• Develop promotional programs that drive and supports LTP
• Recommend product assortment and SRP based on strategy, market needs, etc.
• Evaluate promotional programs from competitors and use to develop Benefit’s promo programs
• Own and manage Travel Retail, Gorgeous A Go Go (global), Digital/Ecommerce Programs from ideation to execution
Analysis:
• Partner with Senior Analyst to track sales performance of sets to recommend future product assortment and pricing
• Identify and recommend opportunities for future promo programs
Cross Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with planning to ensure that timelines are met
• Manage mp process for promotional programs
• Work closely with commercial teams and retail channels on developing promotional programs
• Liaison with marketing directors around the world to ensure global needs are met
• Collaborate with innovation to determine sku/shade offerings
Leadership:
• Lead internal forecasting preparations to ensure all deliverables are met for monthly forecast meetings.
• Mentor and manage Associate Promotional Manager
• Other job related duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a similar environment, ideally for cosmetics or consumer good company
• Understanding of product development process and merchandising
• Strong analytical skills, with prior experience using data to influence the long term strategic plan for promotional marketing or similar projects.
• Excellent Project Management skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to manage projects under limited direction.
• Strategic thinking and sound judgment in execution of activities
• Highly detail oriented with critical eye for details and numbers
• Ability to thrive in fast paced and entrepreneurial environment
• Flexible and able to react to changes quickly with a positive attitude
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
• Strong presentation skills, both in creation of PowerPoint presentations and ability to present to Executives.
• Curious nature, passion and love for cosmetics
