Description
As our Demand Planning Director, you will be responsible for driving the Emerging Markets demand planning processes across categories and product engines for the entire EM geography. You will be responsible for elevating the Geography and Territory Demand planning and Net Ship planning processes to create a foundation needed to get Emerging Markets to $6B and beyond. You will partner closely with Global/GEO Territories Merchandising, Finance, Sales, Brand and Purchase and Inventory Planning to successfully execute against seasonal strategies as well as support strategic plans. You will partner and lead the forecasting process for 8 territories spanning Africa, Asia and Latin America. You will be responsible for coaching and talent development of the Emerging Markets Demand Planning team – at the geography and territory level. In addition, you will be responsible for interacting and communicating with senior level management in the EM and Global to communicate and coordinate our growth plans and align on key business initiatives.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 8 years’ work experience, with at least 5 years’ in a planning function to include: demand planning, retail planning, sales/ marketplace planning, S&OP or financial planning position.
• Strong talent development experience – ability to lead a large, geographically diverse team
• Strong communication skills – experience communicating to Senior Management
• Strategic thinker – able to develop both long and short range plans integrated across merchandising and sales and aligned to our financial and operational objectives
• Cross-functional knowledge and ability to understand and work with key commercial functions: sales, operations, merchandising as well as interface with the Global product engines (Footwear & Apparel)
• Strong functional knowledge in demand planning / net ship planning highly preferred
• Proficient financial skills and knowledge, including ability to optimize resources
• Knowledge of key Retail and Operational metrics
• Understanding of forecasting process and alignment with strategic financial targets
• Ability to analyze data and elevate information as a strategic asset
• Ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
• Strong understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as project/change management, idea creation, employee development, coaching and cross-team effectiveness
• Demonstrated leadership in fostering continuous learning, empowerment, involvement, and opportunities
