POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Business Intelligence will play a key role in analyzing store strategic initiatives and provide recommendations for how to drive the business. S/he will be a key stakeholder to field leadership and FSC business partners and coordinate strategic efforts. In addition, this individual will oversee 4 direct reports and ensure their career development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Retail Business Intelligence
• Analyzing the effectiveness of key strategic initiatives and provide recommendations for driving the business now and in the future
• Playing a key role in setting store Field Objective metrics and key strategic initiative measurements of success
• Developing and maintaining various ad-hoc analysis and financial models to support the business
• Manage a team of analysts that produce key weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to support Field Initiatives and Retail Operations teams
• Identify and implement efficiencies in reporting by coordinating with the right teams within Sephora, eliminating duplication where possible, and streamlining reporting processes
Store Pilots
• Oversee specialized team with expertise in test & design strategy that will: gather new pilot ideas, advise business partners on testing guidelines, assess store feedback, and analyze/assess business data
• Support cross functional partners to drive processes related to pilots, align on priorities and deliver a comprehensive plan including milestones/timing of work
• Advise on optimal pilot execution based on established guidelines to ensure projects and initiatives that hit stores are fully vetted and ready to go
• Support communicating pilot measurements and success criteria to cross functional partners include Executive Leadership
• Provide recommendations to Executive Leadership for next steps based on pilot results
• Travel to Sephora stores as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor degree required in Business Administration, Finance, or similar
• 8+ years of experience in Analytics, Retail or Finance
• Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain relationships with business partners at all levels
• Ability to work extremely well across functions, successfully bringing people together towards common goals and consensus
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects, people, and initiatives
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
• Track record of developing direct reports
• Expert level skills in Excel
• Ability to travel for on-site field analysis
