About the Role
As the VP of Communications, you will lead the company’s strategic direction and execution of all corporate and consumer communications. This includes building a next level communications strategy in partnership with the COO, driving media awareness, reputation, and image, building the PR/comms function at Stitch Fix with key hires and resources and growing and nurturing strategic tech, financial and consumer media relationships that enhance the company’s and execs’ reputations and coverage. You will support executive communications needs at industry conferences, create compelling content from the company’s news, data, exec, and launch arsenal, and ideate and launch a corporate blog and corporate social media channels. You will be responsible for building an internal comms organization, and partnering with other executives, marketing leaders and partner organizations to help drive client acquisition, retention, and Stitch Fix love.

• Create, educate, and execute a strategic communications plan that supports the company’s long-term brand and business goals as well as here-and-now marketing needs
• Recruit, inspire, and grow an in-house team and agency partners to deliver outsized results for Stitch Fix
• Implement, manage, and communicate PR and comms metrics--and act on results to shape maximum positive brand awareness and favorable client acquisition/retention impact
• Maintain, develop, and nurture critical and broad media relationships that are vital to the Stitch Fix reputation among various constituent audiences
• Ideate and architect a plan, processes, and structure for a corporate blog and corporate social media channels
• Support executives for their speaking and publicity needs--including content development and media/speaker prep/training
• Execute communications programs for multiple, diverse audiences in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
• Scope and develop compelling content and stories that get Stitch Fix noticed
• Scale across the function--able to handle daily deliverables and fire drills as well as long-term stories, needs, and plans
• Partner with other marketing leaders and company groups to make sure PR/Comms is in lockstep with and fully leverages other initiatives and programs

• You have an advanced degree or related experience (bachelor’s degree minimally required)
• You have a minimum of 15+ years experience in a fast-paced, competitive comms environment
• You are a natural leader and critical thinker
• You have collaborated with business leaders to create and execute comprehensive comms plans that have increased brand awareness and client/customer acquisition
• You are a great writer and communicator
• You are an expert at high-profile media relations, executive communications, compelling content development, social media, team and people motivation and management, comms/PR metrics and analysis, crisis communications, policy and investor comms (as needed as the company grows), multi-audience engagement, media and presenter training, and corporate/tech PR as well as consumer/lifestyle PR
• You’re capable of flying high and being a strategic player in one breath and flying low and diving into the weeds the next
• You will thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced and feedback-driven environment
• Cross-functional communication comes naturally to you in solving problems and addressing roadblocks
