Purpose and Scope: The Web Designer will work collaboratively with a talented and motivated team to create fluid e-commerce, editorial and digital design solutions and effective interactive experiences for the family of Ralph Lauren brands.
Key Responsibilities:
The Web Designer is responsible for owning digital design execution of seasonal campaigns and marketing. They will help create marketing, editorial and email designs, site frameworks, e-commerce concepts, shopping tools, and user experience from original concepts.
• Support creative team leaders.
• Concept and execute seasonal campaign and content strategy across marketing assets, ad campaigns, and editorials.
• Mentor and manage junior design team members to ensure professional growth and consistency of assets ensuring all assets meet both design/ brand requirements and objectives as briefed.
• Collect and share examples for of innovative and inspirational digital creative.
• Work with marketing counterparts to align briefs with available assets.
• Submit work for copy on time.
• Submit work for internal creative reviews on time.
• Update project management team and calendar tools on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Name and organize files accurately (naming convention, server organization, file organization, etc.)
• Deliver assets in the correct format and on time.
• Communicate and share latest files/ assets/ versions with all key stakeholders and counterparts.
• Provide regular status updates to team members and managers and raise issues/ potential problems as they arise.
• Attend key meetings and track next steps/ follow-ups (including with junior designers and/or direct reports)
• Know when all key meetings are scheduled and ensure materials/supplies are available and presentations are prepared.
• Present concepts/ideas to team members and leadership and gain alignment.
• Be familiar with all partner/ clients sites, capabilities and competitive landscape.
Qualifications:
• 4-year university degree or equivalent.
• 3-5 years experience in graphic/interactive/digital design.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think proactively, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively within a group.
• Dynamic individual who has energy and enthusiasm.
• Solid technical skills and ability to define and refine requirements through a project lifecycle.
• Understanding of web file types (.fla,.flv, .jpg, .png, .swf, etc.) and and understanding of the difference between major coding languages (HTML, JavaScript, Flash).
• Strong understanding of latest web technologies and their capabilities.
• Superior Adobe Creative Suite knowledge.
• Photoshop: Expert Level.
• CSS, HTML, photo and video editing experience is a plus.
