Celebrating our legacy of modern fashion, creativity, individuality, and intrigue by providing every guest with an unparalleled customer experience. We are currently seeking Buying Interns for both Men's and Women's in our Corporate Office in New York, New York.
Responsibilities:
• Learn to maintain orders by keying and monitoring purchase orders
• Maintain contact with the distribution center to determine current receipts, to rush delivery to stores, to resolve any problem receipts, and to arrange for timely delivery returns to vendors in cases of incorrect receipts
• Learn to track sales, analyze reports, discuss information with the buyer in a timely fashion, and make basic re-order recommendations
• Identify and shop the competition and make recommendations to buyer
• Learn to determine mark-up and price changes on products
• Review and analyze current sales trends and compare and contrast the data against sales history, including reviewing sales by department and reviewing sales by style
• Communicate findings to the buyer and divisional team members
• Attend market appointments to aid in the selection of goods
Qualifications:
• Strong mathematical skills
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
• Demonstrated business acumen
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Previous study of retail mail or introduction to buying preferred
• Clear interest in career path
• Must be enrolled in college or university
