Summary
The Business Data Analyst will collect and deliver data to various departments on a consistent basis. The analyst will assist in the investigation of irregularities in company performance and help to maintain the integrity of data sources. This position will work with our analytics dashboard which pull in data from a variety of sources to provide regularly scheduled reports as well as impromptu reports when a report is deemed necessary to make analysis to drive revenue or fix problem areas of a particular marketing channel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (from daily to monthly to yearly tasks):
• Build reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our company.
• Estimate, implement and deploy analytics solutions
• Configure Google Analytics features to meet business requirements
• Develop and recommend web analytics data collection best practices based on latest industry trends.
• Assist paid media teams with tracking pixel implementations with Google Tag Manager and other tag management tools.
• Troubleshoot technical analytics and tag implementation issues
• Perform detailed data exploration and validation from a variety of sources.
• Analyze daily PPC performance trends, develop keyword optimization recommendations.
• Analyze, maintain and regularly report on customer LTV trends for all Marketing campaigns
• Develop, maintain and deliver data-driven reporting using SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Measure, evaluate and present forecasting metrics to support customer acquisition efforts for email, paid search and banner advertisements.
• Collaborate with other departments to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
• Summarize weekly performance, and report to marketing group.
Education and Experience (What level of experience and/or education do you think is necessary to fulfill your job?):
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or any other appropriate discipline
• 3-5 years of relevant, professional work experience (2+ within an agency environment)
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (e.g., “strong leadership skills” or “proficiency in MS Word, Excel”:
• SQL data querying skills required.
• Analytical thinker.
• Strong proficiency in excel, dashboard creation and pivot tables
• Some JavaScript experience may be required
• Familiar with search marketing (SEO and SEM), specifically performance data extraction tools such as Omniture, WebTrends, Google Analytics/AdWords/Webmaster tools
• Familiar with installing, optimizing and reporting with Google Analytics or similar tag-based web analytics package
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work fast without compromising quality or accuracy
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Digital marketing experience a plus
