Golden Fleece Manufacturing Group, a subsidiary of Brooks Brothers Group, Inc., is comprised of three U.S.-based manufacturing facilities located in Massachusetts, New York and North Carolina producing tailored suits, jackets, coats, ties and shirts of exceptional quality for Brooks Brothers and a variety of well-respected brands. The flagship factory, known as "Southwick" is located in Haverhill, Massachusetts and has been an institution in the Merrimack Valley since its founding in 1929. Today, Southwick operates out of a new state-of-the art facility.
The diversity of our operations has recently created an opportunity for a Product Coordinator located at our Sotuhwick location. The Product Coordinator, under minimum supervision, plans, orders and monitors status of product samples and fabrics used in production.
Accountabilities:
• Initiates and tracks samples to meet required time schedule as dictated by the merchandise and production plan for each season
• Procures and tracks sample and bulk fabric and trim according to seasonal merchandise and production plan requirements
• Maintains and oversees material flow from suppliers to provide responsive and uninterrupted service while maintaining required inventory turns
• Manages internal and external financial and inventory processes; including interaction with Accounts Payable/Credit, Receiving and mill communication
• Notifies internal department on status of material procurement, especially when the lack /quality of materials could affect the performance of business and manufacturing operations
• Interfaces with customers’ needs to facilitate their order requirements
• Establishes and enforces supply agreements and contracts with established suppliers to ensure materials quality and service are maintained
• Assists product development process in sourcing and costing materials from new and preferred suppliers, including creating and distributing product costing for each style and season
• Keeps abreast of the latest developments in purchasing and building services functions, through reading, attendance at seminars, etc.
• Performs such similar, comparable and related duties as may be required
Skills & Requirements:
• College level knowledge of merchandising typically acquired through the attainment of a Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising or a related field and a working level knowledge in the use of a personal computer and applicable software is required
• Specific work experience is not mandatory; planning experience in the apparel industry is helpful
• Attention to detail; ability to deal with people at all organizational levels; strong administrative, organizational, planning and oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with MS Excel spreadsheets and company’s ERP system
• Office environment
• Extra hours may be required
