Position Summary:
The VP will support and further the Operational Excellence strategy across Reinhart by defining and driving business transformation, streamlining operations and building new solutions to simplify business processes and deliver on strategic objectives. The primary focus of this position is to drive excellence in transportation and fleet operations for Reinhart Foodservice (RFS). This role creates and implements the vision and strategy for transportation programs, systems and processes required to support the company’s current and future distribution and supply chain requirements. The Vice President of Transportation ensures transportation processes, assets and service are optimized to meet the operating goals of RFS.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
• Implements improved processes and methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization, including implementing productivity/quality metrics and programs designed to minimize costs and enhance efficiency.
• Develops strategies and leads Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence deployment. Lead, roll-out, and implement business wide programs that drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in the divisions using multiple CI methodologies.
• Supports ongoing development of a culture of Continuous Improvement by delivering training on Operational Excellence tools and supporting cross-functional efforts in the application of these tools to drive improvement across all areas of the business.
• Provides analytical support for all site Operations teams to improve daily operations.

Transportation Responsibilities
• Prioritizes transportation-related initiatives to optimize transportation and fleet management; translates that strategy into a plan that can be executed to meet operational and financial requirements.
• Develops standard operating procedures and metrics to achieve business results and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of transportation and fleet management across the company, including but not limited to:
◦ Routing analytics and implementation
◦ Customer service and perfect order delivery
◦ Fleet standardization and optimization
◦ Driver training and on-boarding
◦ Safety and compliance
◦ Technology solutions to address operational and customer needs
• Acts as an advocate for RFS’s safety culture; ensures all processes support people and food safety and comply with company policies and legal requirements.
• Provides leadership and works cross-functionally within RFS and across Reyes Holdings on key initiatives such as driver recruiting, retention, training and on-boarding, leader development, engagement and fleet management.
• Establishes relationships with state and regional transit associations and participate in their activities.
• Provides necessary support to Region Presidents, Division Presidents, and field operations leaders to meet their annual operating budgets.
Fleet Responsibilities
• Partners with Divisions and Reyes Fleet Management to ensure the maintenance program meets performance and budgetary metrics and complies with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; improves processes to reduce expenses when appropriate
• Provides leadership within RFS and across Reyes Holdings to drive continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements for Fleet operations and safety.
• Creates and implements programs designed to improve driver performance and safety metrics, DOT compliance, and vehicle maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Distribution, Supply Chain, Transportation or related field
• 10+ years of experience in overseeing Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain operations
• 5+ years leadership experience (Director level and above) in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain
• Ability to drive results, preferably in a complex large organization
• Strategic thinker; ability to prioritize initiatives in order to operations and the ability to translate strategy into an executable plan
• Strong team building skills – hiring, developing and motivating people
• Strong project management experience, from ideation to execution and follow-up
• Change management experience and communication skills, particularly interpersonal, in complex large organizations; matrix organizational experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience in building strategic and operational plans that drive results over multiple cycles
• Strong analytic and financial acumen; demonstrated experience in budgeting, managing a P&L, and contract negotiation
• Continuous improvement and problem solving skills; ability to develop and implement processes and metrics to manage business results
• Knowledge of transportation policy and law (state and federal) plus knowledge of transportation technologies, databases and telematics systems
• This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• MBA
• 15 years of experience in overseeing Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain operations
• Experience in managing operations and teams across a national organization
• Experience in global logistics or supply chain operations
• Experience in warehouse operations
• Professional Certifications in Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Process Optimization or Logistics, Supply Chain or Transportation
