Position Overview:This position is a senior level, results-focused Director of Public Affairs and Communications to serve as a generalist and business partner in support of Coca-Cola North America’s (CCNA) customer teams in Food Service & On-Premise (FSOP) and National Retail Sales (NRS). The Director, Customer Communications provides ongoing real-time support to customer account leads for proactive and reactive communications needs ranging from media relations to public policy issues to message and presentation development to co-equity brand PR campaigns. The role also supports the leaders of FSOP and NRS with external and internal communications support and strategic counsel.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a senior level, results-focused Director of Public Affairs and Communications to serve as a generalist in support of Coca-Cola North America’s (CCNA) customer teams in Food Service and On-Premise (FSOP) and National Retail Sales (NRS). The Director, Customer Communications provides ongoing real-time support to customer account leads for proactive and reactive communications needs ranging from media relations to public policy issues to message and presentation development to co-equity brand PR campaigns. The role also supports the heads of the FSOP and NRS divisions with external and internal communications support and strategic counsel.
POSITION ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, manage and enable delivery of key messages to important stakeholder audiences to clearly define and communicate the company's strategic business priorities (issue positions impacting business, reputation management, etc.), while also promoting the growth of our brands with customers
Lead initiatives to train and equip CCNA’s salesforce with the latest messaging and information on various issues facing the company and its customers.
Provide counsel to the business around PAC trends, challenges, opportunities, etc. (solid recommendations around taking advantage of upcoming trends, assessing those issues which need to be raised to the business, manage the dialogue around opportunities, etc.)
Support the management of risk events with customers to support timely communications and coordination with internal issues response teams.
Support development of strategic PAC plans for the heads of the NRS and FSOP divisions (including speeches, presentations, briefing documents, town halls, as needed)
Lead communications support for major co-equity brand programs with customers, including close coordination with CCNA Brand PR teams
Lead CCNA Trade PR efforts, including activation of 2-3 major customer trade shows annually
Manage PR agency resources and budgets as needed for support
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field
• 8-10 years’ related experience
• Experience performing the job responsibilities above.
