Job Description
Overview
The Director, Sales oversees the implementation and execution of sales, distribution, marketing strategies, and tactics against corporate goals and objectives for an assigned national retailer. The incumbent strives to enhance Hain Celestial dominance in multiple categories to achieve business results through influence, executive presence, and penetration with the retailer's senior management team(s).
Responsibility for delivering on volume, distribution and profit goals and objectives.
Establishing/Maintaining a productive business and strategic relationship with retail senior management.
Manage Made to Matter relationship -- involvement with product innovation and timelines
Establish sales team stretch objectives and manage personnel workload appropriately.
Direct and leverage strategic Joint Business Planning process with retail sales planning and category management departments.
Implement HCG Corporate Sales and Marketing objectives.
Effectively manage Trade & Co-Marketing budgets.
Provide management direction with all Private Label initiatives.
Coordinate Supply Chain alignment and successful partnership projects.
Perform annual business and performance reviews with retailer and HCG personnel.
Provides leadership, guidance and direction to all members of assigned sales team
Assists with other projects as assigned
Qualifications
• Minimum ten years' experience in a Sales capacity within a Consumer Packaged Goods Company, Distributor or Broker Network environment or related role
• Bachelor's degree in Business, marketing or equivalent
• Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the HCG and the retailer organization.
• Expert knowledge of internal computer sales systems utilized by assigned (Kroger, Target, Walmart, WholeFoods) national retailer
• Ability to interpret account specific data -- and translate into relevant category review presentations, as well as other sales related information/material.
• Ability and desire to travel extensively.
• Working knowledge and understanding of retailer strategy, internal structure, and Nielsen/IRI syndicated data.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
