Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a Johnson & Johnson company, is recruiting for an independent and self-motivated leader to enable innovation by supporting cross-functional improvement initiatives and the implementation of a continuous improvement framework across Development Management Operation and Analytics (DMOA).
You will assess current state processes, improvement and innovation opportunities to drive efficiency and effectiveness under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Operational Excellence. You incumbent will play a key role in connecting with continuous improvement experts in JnJ, establishing a Community of Practice, applying Process Improvement expertise (Lean, Six Sigma, Design Excellence), and develop a platform & culture of continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge transfer.
Your effective written and oral communication skills; as well as, ability to earn the trust of partners; and approach opportunities with intellectual curiosity and collaborative mindset are critical skills for success. Also, your ability to sense and respond to problems and opportunities will enable your success. In addition, our ability to work with senior levels of management and to exercise independent judgment and recommendations regarding business decisions are important.
The successful candidate will be directly accountable for the following;
• Support the development and implementation of a Continuous improvement framework, roadmap, including training needs.
• Own governance process for the portfolio of improvement activities, including decision-making facilitation, and metrics to measure progress and value.
• Analyze key DMOA or JRD metrics and leading indicators, work with functions and TAs to identify new improvements initiatives.
• Engage with business partners to understand & analyze complex information to understand cost, performance and efficiency of DMOA and R&D processes and be able to help identify areas for process improvement within DMOA.
• Providing guidance and structure to development of business cases for opportunities.
• Drive and Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Arts (BA) degree or equivalent degree is required.
• Requires a thorough knowledge of the drug and/or device development process, expert knowledge and practical experience of Lean, Six Sigma and Design Excellence principles, sound research and development practices, scientific terminology, and good understanding of applicable regulations. Certifications in Process Excellence (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean) and/or Project Management are strongly preferred.
• Significant experience working in global organizations is required
• Must have strong personal leadership with demonstrated competency collaborating with all levels of the organization including senior leaders; Strong networking and relationship building skills;written and verbal communications skills
• Must have conflict resolution/management and negotiation skills; Ability to independently plan, organize, lead, and execute assigned tasks.
• Excellent knowledge of English is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
