Director of Planning - Personal Health
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
Be challenged to lead and formulate the future strategic direction; as well as, coordinate the demand and supply on the Business Group (BG) level ensuring worldwide product availability is optimized.
While reporting to the Head of Operations for Personal Health, you will be consulted as a senior specialist on various projects to investigate, assess and identify new business developments opportunities, application concepts, and new models for Philips; in addition to, determining any implications.
The location for this position is Stamford, Connecticut. Travel within North America and possibly internationally, as needed.
You are responsible for (but not limited to)
• Accurate planning (demand and supply) and driving the execution to deliver sales growth for the Personal Health portfolio in North-America by ensuring operational design is optimized end-to-end.
• Verifying key capabilities and ensuring operational expertise for Business Planning (BP) are in place to certify reporting is timely, standardized and transparent, enabling best practice sharing, rapid problem-solving, and fast decision-making.
• Identifying and driving key breakthrough Business Plan projects to ensure continued best practices are in line with or ahead of best-in-class benchmarks and trends.
• Adhering to operational Business Planning (BP) processes by proactively working together with Marketing / Sales / Sales Planning / Operations (the Commercial Diamond) on timely and accurate delivery of the output as defined.
• Facilitating operational Business Planning cycles; developing and maintaining standardized reporting ensuring adequate input is given to enable focused and fast decision-making.
• The quality of the demand plan as an output of the operational Business Planning process and ensures adequate execution of the supply planning process (short- and mid-term) and timely capacity planning (long-term) to maximize demand fulfillment.
• Implementing and maintaining an appropriate inventory management strategy to maximize customer service to levels, while at the same time managing inventory levels according to set targets; and optimizing allocation and constraint management (demand and supply).
• Operational activities related to Phase-In / Phase-Out of Stock Keeping Units (SKU’s) and pro-actively manages C-tail SKU’s in close cooperation with Marketing.
• Performance management and adequate analysis of sales (actual) vs. plan (forecast); in addition to, defining the root causes and corrective actions for deviations, as input for next planning cycles.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
• Bachelor’s degree, required; in Business, Industrial Engineering, or similar, ideal
• Master’s degree or MBA, recommended.
• 10+ years’ experience with progressive career growth and a deep understanding of retail demand planning (long and short-term), forecasting and supply chain management – globally, required.
• Skilled in using the following software: JDA, SAP, QlikView, Excel (a master-user) and other Microsoft Office related products.
• Solid expertise with Kan-Ban and Pull Systems, required.
• Experienced in leading teams consisting of Demand Planners, Supply Planners, and Statistical Forecasters.
• Intellectual capacity to digest complex information, identify trends and analysis through data then translate into concrete actions.
• Strategic-minded with the ability to initiate, manage and drive change through the use of business transformation, lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Skilled at regularly interacting with executives and/or major customers.
• Excellent Communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Leading multiple complex projects, and executing high-quality deliverables.
