Our Information Technology department is currently seeking a Director of Foundational Services and IT Operations to operate as part of a collaborative and dynamic team under the Chief Information Officer play a critical role in guiding strategic technology investments for infrastructure and application technologies.
In this role, you will have direct operational responsibility for the Corporate Data Center (2-5 managers, 15-30 individual contributors), including capital and expense management and awareness of emerging technology trends. Teams you will oversee include Network and Telecom Services, Platform and Hosting Services, Client Computing, and Information Security. You will also be expected to provide effective leadership of internal or external resources necessary to deliver global technology, and establish policies and standards.
Responsibilities of the Director of Foundational Services and IT Operations:
• Develop and deliver portfolio of IT foundational technology services to support and achieve defined business objectives
• Collaborate with CIO to ensure alignment with AWI’s strategic goals and best possible use of global IT resources
• Ensure appropriate processes are followed to execute IT and business strategy
• Promote goals and objectives that advance the use of innovative information technologies
• Augment and streamline IT services by actively seeking ways to leverage integration of business processes with applicable emerging technologies
• Anticipate significant system and industry changes and present analysis to CIO so AWI can respond proactively
• Mentor and coach team by developing their professional technical abilities, soft skills, and effectiveness
• Build relationships with Project Management, IT leaders, and business leaders to drive business outcomes and service expansion
• Create annual IT business plan and budget and deliver progress updates to CIO
• Challenge existing practices and cost structures to drive optimized service levels, cost efficiency, and service performance
• Recommend elimination of under-utilized services and change SLAs to reflect current demand and expectations
• Lead development of AWI technology architecture strategy, including design, evaluation, implementation, and operation
• Protect Armstrong information and assets by working with Information Security to implement best practices in cyber information risk management and security
• Establish and enforce standard global processes to ensure quality of operations and service delivery for areas such as change management, equipment standardization, process standardization, metrics/measures
• Provide negotiation support to Vendor Management on contracts with IT vendors and IT consultants
• Establish overall IT enterprise infrastructure work plan and determine major business requirements, priorities, and resource allocations
• Establish operating budget and determine allocation of costs to business units and functions
• Oversee SOX program and Internal Controls testing and collaborate with internal and external auditors to review scope, testing approach, and results
Required Qualifications and Education of the Director of Foundational Services and IT Operations:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 15+ years of experience as a senior leader in the information technology field
• 10+ years of management experience
• Experience leading technologies utilized in a manufacturing environment, including SAP or similar ERP solution
• Proven experience as change agent with the ability to lead, motivate, direct, and achieve results through teams and functional support resources
Preferred Qualifications of the Director of Foundational Services and IT Operations:
• Master’s degree
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
