The Position
Currently seeking a Sr. Director of Channel Sales to support VP/GM of one of our carrier accounts. He/ She will establish the Channel Sales organization to increase Samsung market performance within the US smartphone, tablet, and wearable categories, develop/grow channel sales market share, transform channel/field sales capabilities, and to ensure profitable results for the company.
Primary responsibilities as follows:
• Drive growth and increased share for Samsung by developing leadership plans and strategies that drive results at the “last three feet” of consumer experience, where “sell-through” is critical to success.
• Partner with customer channels to funnel critical Voice of the Customer (VOC) inputs related to Samsung products and go-to-market strategy and execution.
• Collaborate with marketing, category sales, product development, and operations to achieve the sales objectives identified by the company.
• Development of sales strategies, product introduction plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Lead Channel Sales team to achieve the best and most profitable product sales opportunities in the North American market place. Ensure that financial resources and incentives are used to optimize increased revenue, maximize sell through, and achieve profitable results.
• Develop strategies for sales channels and identify results to be achieved within each channel of business. Identify and develop new business opportunities and business relationships which results in the achievement of increased revenue and profitability.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customer leadership to pursue new profitable business opportunities and product developments and to increase market share.
• Spearhead the recruitment, motivation, development and retention of professionals who can deliver sustained (profitable) revenue growth. Instill a culture of accountability and empowerment, performance-based management, teamwork and other best practices to achieve the goals of the organization.
• Leverage market and internal analytics to develop a go-to-market strategy in support of Samsung objectives, including account and product line specific programs.
The successful candidate will be:
• An organizational change-agent
• 15+ years of progressively senior sales roles in top-tier, branded fast moving companies ideally with additional seasoning in categories with more similar go-to-market strategies to that of SEA.
• Obtained BA Degree in a field relative; MBA is a plus
• Proven track record having helped profitably grow a business, having developed and implemented the appropriate polices and processes necessary to drive and manage a business with specific metrics and discipline.
• Strong strategic planning skills
• Strong understanding of category management and merchandising techniques consistent with having led a field/channel sales organization.
• Outstanding skills, financial acumen, organizational planning and talent selection skills required.
• A proven self-starter, he/she must be a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good business judgment, and outstanding managerial leadership ability.
• Ability to bring outstanding interpersonal skills (including excellent oral and written communication), strong intellect and problem solving skills to any discussion with colleagues and/or customers.
The ideal candidate will be a consummate leader and will have a proven ability to build, grow and inspire teams. She/he will demonstrate dynamic leadership ability and have strong cross-functional and team-building skills with an ability to manage effectively across the organization.
Finally, the top candidate will be guided by process-improvement techniques directed at improving the operations of the organization on a continual basis.
