This position is responsible for achievement of overall customer sales/profit goals for Mars Petcare US at Walmart. This person will lead an organization designed to provide unparalleled value to Walmart with the goal of becoming “First Choice in Category Leadership". The associate will own alignment of the Category Leadership relationship with all levels of Walmart Merchandising (buyers/DMM/VP) into Mars Petcare while respecting the “firewall” policy of separation between category and sales.
Principal Accountabilities
Business
• Delivery of annual business targets – NSV, Earnings, Cash, and Share.
• Growth in influence – Captaincy/validator in 3+ priority categories.
• Insights Development – Own custom learning plan for Walmart Inc.
• Deep understanding of business plan and drivers – Distribution, Pricing, Shelf, Merchandizing
Organization
• Manage process for alignment between HQ and Walmart Inc. aroundshelf and business initiatives.
• Provide vision/direction to team and roadmap for achievement
• Cross-functional alignment with Marketing, Finance, Supply, Demand Planning,
People
• Coach/train for high performance
• Quality development plans for all associates
• Lead/Model High Performing Team behavior

Key Skills Required:
• Demonstrates ability to select, analyze and integrate consumer/shopper, customer and category information to deliver business solutions in alignment with Mars and customer strategies
• Demonstrates the knowledge and application of Category Management processes and theories of delivering value-added category and shopper solutions
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of all available information sources including methodology and relevance
• Demonstrates knowledge of the strategies, processes and structures of Mars and our customers (or ability to learn)
• Stays current with new developments and seeks ways to use technology to increase learning, productivity and business results
• Understands the roles and importance of vendor relationships and manages vendors to provide business solutions that address stakeholder's needs and improve the company's competitive position
• Effectively plans and manages major business projects and activities that directly support key unit goals
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to travel 50% of the time
Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
9 years CPG sales experience with multiple customer knowledge/multiple function knowledge.
7 years of Category Management experience with an understanding of the category management process.
People Management (5+ people for 3+ years)
Demonstrated knowledge of primary and secondary research tools
Demonstrated ability with all information-based selling tools
Advanced Experience with Panel and Scan Syndicated Data (IRI or Nielsen)
Advanced Experience with Space Management Software (JDA or Apollo)
Willingness to complete drug screen and background check
Clean driving record and valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business/Marketing
5+ years Walmart Category Manager experience in an Advisor Role in center store/DC replenished categories (i.e. Food/Frozen Food/HBC/Consumables)
Experience conducting Primary Shopper research to conclusion
Sales role in CPG company
Mobility in future role
