The Public Relations and Social Media department within Hallmark's Public Affairs & Communications division proactively tells the company's dynamic story to consumers and the media to advance targeted business goals. Team members are highly visible across the organization and play an active role in helping Hallmark deliver on its aspirational vision to create a more emotionally connected world by making a genuine difference in every life, every day.
Team members serve as a center of excellence on PR and social media and regularly provide thought leadership and counsel to a wide range of business partners from each of the company's businesses, including Hallmark Greetings, Hallmark Retail, Hallmark Home & Gifts, Hallmark Channel, Crayola and our Crown Center Real Estate Development Corp.
The department regularly works with outside agencies and business partners to advance its goals, elevate the company's brands and to ensure access to best practice thinking and solutions. Team members also serve as guardians of the company's reputation.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Public Relations and Social Media Director for product and marketing plays an important role in providing counsel and thought leadership to business leaders across our portfolio of businesses to promote and protect the company's reputation and to drive targeted business outcomes through PR and social media programs.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing advice and counsel to senior leaders about the implications or risks of any strategies or actions
• Developing and implementing PR and social media programs to introduce new Hallmark products to the marketplace, drive traffic to stores, and inspire engagement among targeted audiences
• Setting the strategy for and managing Hallmark's branded social media accounts and leading a team to serve as a center of excellence on social media best practices for the corporation
• Managing a team of PR and social media practitioners and outside agencies as needed
• Serving as a company spokesperson and building relationships with news and trade media, online and social influencers, consumer groups, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The following is required to be considered for this role:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years of management experience leading a communications team, corporate public relations team, or social media team at a corporation or agency
• Experience developing social media strategy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Your resume will stand out if you have:
• Advanced degree in business, marketing, PR, communications or related field
• 5+ years of agency management experience
• Consumer brand experience
• Experience as a company spokesperson
• Excellent communication skills across all mediums
• Budget management experience
• Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external business partners
• Involvement in one or more national industry associations i.e. PRSA, socialmedia.org, IABC, etc.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Strong project management and prioritizing skills, with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Strong collaboration skills and a track record of successfully leading a team to get results
• Exemplary personal leadership, including a will to win as a team, high level of personal accountability and learning agility. Must have a positive attitude and be a motivated self-starter
