Job Summary
The Senior Director, Global Organizational Development is responsible for managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of team members, particularly senior leaders and emerging leaders.
Essential Functions
• Provide subject matter expertise and consultative services for large-scale organization design, transformation, and realignment for functions
• Provide coaching and support to HR business partners as they lead organizational design initiatives in their respective Functions / Operating Units
• Partner with Group HR resources in engagement survey design and data interpretation, and provide coaching and support to HR business partners to interpret data, communicate results and develop action plans
• Identify and prioritize training needs across the end user population, and develop strategies for effectively closing the gaps
• Acts as a center of excellence for hourly operator training, including continuous improvement concepts
• Develop training programs and leverage various resources (super users, subject matter experts, train-the-trainer sessions, e-learning modules, etc.) to cost effectively address skill gaps across all target audiences
• Develop a training program to build change management skills within the HR team
• Assist with the provision of expert facilitation and coaching to supervisors and managers regarding OD methods and tools.
• Manage the individual development planning process for senior leaders and emerging leaders, ensuring the PDP appropriately captures development and development planning opportunities
• Prepare budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources
• Supervise a group of personnel in a work unit, each performing similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities
• Oversee execution of programs across North America, Asia (particularly China), Europe (particularly Ireland and Germany) and Latin America.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages all employees of the function and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four- year college or university in Human Resource Management, organizational development/organizational behavior/training and development or a related field (Masters preferred) and a minimum of ten (10) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have had the following experiences:
• Has led large scale change management projects within complex global organizations
• Has led organizational design projects at the global business unit or function level
• Has led integration efforts associated with merger and/or acquisition of businesses including assessments, org structure, communications, culture, etc.
• Has credentials associated with Process re-engineering/operational excellence/LEAN/Process Mapping
• Ability to influence key business stakeholders to drive project engagement and buy-in while instilling confidence in his/her own change management capabilities
• Ability to manage key stakeholder expectations, concerns, and to identify and mitigate project risks as required
• Viewed as a trusted advisor with a successful track record in building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of the organization
• Has a track record of establishing change management competency within a business
