WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU TO DO IN THIS CRITICAL ROLE:
Global demand for aviation connectivity continues to accelerate at an unprecedented pace. Connected applications are unlocking valuable new ancillary revenues for airlines, independently estimated to reach $30 billion by 2035. Passenger expectations of service quality are also growing rapidly, mirroring advances on the ground. The challenge of meeting rising aspirations requires industry leaders to create new alliances to develop ever more innovative and pioneering solutions.
The Director of Connectivity Tech Sales is an entrepreneurial pioneer who will lead Panasonic’s newly announced strategic business partnership with Inmarsat. They will share in the excitement to do what has never been done in Aviation and thrive with the opportunity to build a new sales structure between two very successful connectivity companies. The Director will transform the airline connectivity industry by developing new business models to better address the connectivity needs of airline customers, build and lead a successful go-to-market, and lead a team of direct technical sales managers and indirect functional experts. Works closely with regional leaders as an internal customer to deliver best-in-class solutions to external airline customers.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE:
• Leads the Global GX Connectivity Sales P&L, and responsible for
delivering the revenue and profitability financials Leads the GX tech sales
team within Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC)
• Single interface between PAC and Inmarsat’s Dedicated Team regarding GX
• Facilitates all GX bids
• Supports Regional Sales in customer meetings for GX-based proposals
• Develops a deep understanding of the “met and unmet needs” of the Airline
customers as well as regional needs
• Partners with key functions and regions to create and implement new business
models and services that enable PAC to deliver 10x growth in our global markets
• Builds and executes new go-to-market strategies
• By using Lean Start-Up techniques, role model “start-up behavior” by
demonstrating success in weeks and months, not months and years
• Partner closely with our Customer Performance Center to deliver a world-class c
customer experience to existing customers, and new customers based on customer
centric KPIs
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Deep passion and knowledge of aviation industry
• Technical understanding of Connectivity business and relevant services
• Champion of change and influential communicator
• Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated success in unchartered environments
• Relevant commercial experience leading Sales, Product Management, or Services
• Strong business acumen
• Demonstrated leadership skills including leading in matrix organizations
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Engineering or business degree
• MBA preferred
• Aviation education or experience required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Travel up to 50% of the time
