Right now, we are seeking a Director, Product Management, Global Partner Solutions, based at Western Union’s Digital headquarters in San Francisco, California.
In this role you will be an experienced and strategic leader who will drive global product leadership and execution of Western Union Business Solutions (WUBS) Partner Solutions. This encompasses owning the strategy and roadmap for all of our partner and customer facing API’s for ‘Payout’ and ‘Cross Border Receivables’ use cases across our B2B, C2B and B2C segments.
You will own and drive the expansion of our external facing API’s and Developer platform through ideas and creativity based on solid market research, competitive analysis, customer understanding and working in close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations, and the Regional Product teams.
As a key member of the WUBS Global Product Team, You will contribute as a thought leader on both business and technical issues related to our API’s and our Developer strategy and will also play a critical role in strategic planning. This position is expected to formulate and execute a global product strategy that directly contributes to the company’s revenue, profitability and overall value proposition.

Product Strategy and Planning
• Drive and facilitate our API strategy and planning process across the business to provide focus and alignment on critical strategies and delivery plans
• Engage partners and customers to ensure there is a clear and differentiated value proposition including testing of concepts and ideas
• Will be a critical input in to product marketing strategies for demand generation and partner development
Product Roadmap and Execution
• Manage the collection and analysis of market and competitive data and customer feedback, prioritize opportunities, derive conclusions and create a strategic vision that outlines the product roadmap to drive future revenue growth
• Define requirements and Use cases for partner/customer facing API’s and supporting applications, to drive IT development
• Establish product reporting cadence and work closely with the sales organization to align on sales and profitability goals.
Leadership and Talent Management
• Motivate the global and regional product stakeholders through proactive performance management, clear accountability and on-going measurement against goals
• Provide coaching and development opportunities to their team for career growth
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business or Finance is preferred.
• 5+ years related work experience within product management in software, software is essential
• Experience working with API products is essential
• direct experience of working with a diverse portfolio of products/solutions
• a proven successful track record in leadership and staff management
• experience of working within a demanding, action-oriented environment
• track record of effectively balancing the demands of multiple internal and external customers while achieving a highly profitable and market leading software portfolio
• a strong problem-solving mentality and a definite solutions orientation
• to be comfortable working independently, with a high degree of ownership and personal accountability
• high levels of analytical acuity
• a definite sense of urgency and associated `can-do` orientation
• able to manage ambiguity within a changing environment
