Overview
Exciting opportunity for a seasoned media strategist that will have the depth of knowledge to lead holistic strategic development and execution of Sleep Number’s media investment. Must have knowledge of both traditional media and emerging media platforms to ensure a comprehensive media approach. This position will lead specifically “offline” media both locally and nationally, including TV, Radio, Print and OOH. Additionally, this role must have great understand of crossover between traditional and digital with the end goal of driving traffic to our website and more specifically to our stores. We're looking for a natural problem-solver that is data-driven with strong analytical skills.
Responsibilities
• Set strategic vision of holistic media strategy and organize team structure/initiatives that will drive strongest business results
• Strategic development and execution of the offline media plan for all local and national media programs, across all company channels
• Advance and leverage our agency relationship by building trust and maintaining positive rapport to drive business results
• Partner closely with Sr. Director of Digital Media in the development and execution of cross-platform media programs, budget allocation and support of corporate, marketing and media goals.
• Develop strategies and lead marketing initiatives co-partnering with sales partners to drive market-based development planning and executions.
• Consistently stay on the forefront of emerging media trends and apply new methodologies or approaches being able to ideate on new approaches based on changing corporate objectives or consumer trends.
• Develop and manage test plans to support learning across all media forms, including objectives, execution, agency alignment and performance analysis
• Lead the engagement of team to drive strong individual performance.
• Lead strategic marketing approach by understanding and implementing standard methods of investigation, analysis and research, and evaluate current health of business via analysis of relevant business metrics while also seeking new media solutions to deliver on company goals
• Tap into partners resources/tools and collaborate with the VP, Media to offer business solutions
Qualifications
Experience:
• 10-15 years in Advertising/Media, with experience developing media strategy and leading media/marketing teams
• Experience in both traditional and digital media
• Experience in Retail Marketing, including market level planning and awareness-driving media planning
• 4-year college degree in marketing, media or related area, MBA a plus
• Proven experience in leading a team to drive accelerated growth
• Client side media planning experience
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
• Expertise level of knowledge of media terminology, methodologies and market trends
• Excellent negotiation, budget and agency management, communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative and strategic thinker with demonstrated idea generation skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently
• Able to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment and handle multiple projects
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Standard office working environment
• Travel is required and estimated at 4 times per year.
