Responsibilities
• Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
• Directs and coordinates activities of department or division for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectives.
• Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
• Confers with Vice President of Manufacturing and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
• Serves as member of management committees on special studies.
• Establish the direction of the manufacturing department from the overall goals of the corporation.
• Setting and maintaining monetary objectives to obtain the goals.
• Selection, defining and monitoring staff to achieve goals.
• Assuring that all production from the Manufacturing Department is accomplished to the standards set forth by the Corporation.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of employees in the Manufacturing Department.
• Staff and manage Manufacturing Department.
• Supervision of justification, selection of equipment required for Manufacturing.
• Supervision of the economic purchasing of parts and equipment for the production of our products.
• Supervision of the repair and upkeep of all Lochinvar Manufacturing properties.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Manages Manufacturing staff and indirectly manages all direct and indirect labor at the Lochinvar facility.
• Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering discipline preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of Middle Management in a manufacturing environment.
• Production/Manufacturing management experience is required.
• Must have demonstrated expertise with developing and executing a continuous improvement strategy using lean tools.
• Strong experience in developing multiyear manufacturing strategy based on market requirements.
• Demonstrated understanding and management of budgeting process.
• Demonstrated capability of working in an ERP system and understanding of inputs/outputs.
• Strong depth of knowledge and management of materials planning, purchasing and master scheduling.
• Demonstrated capability of developing and executing a robust talent management program, succession planning and work policies
• Demonstrated capability of developing defined project scope to include: executive summary, cost requirement, plan of execution with dates and names, and financial impact.
• Demonstrated experience with metal forming, welding processes and paced assembly lines.
• Comprehensive depth of experience with budget development, expense controls, labor productivity and defining financial performance measurements.
• Understands the key requirements for building a business strategy that addresses market conditions, delivery expectations and financial implications.
• Good depth of experience with working in a team to introduce new products on a frequent basis that include new or improved processes.
• Some exposure to the gas or appliance industry as it relates to approval agencies.
