We are looking for a Digital Experiences, Directorwho will join our Digital and Content Marketingteam.
This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH. Not familiar with Columbus?
Our Digital and Content team is hiring a Director, Digital Experiences. This person will be responsible for directing the strategy, visual design, user experience (UX), and development efforts pertaining to the Company’s websites and apps. Additionally, this person will manage a talented team of managers and specialists.
In this role you will:
• Drive the strategies that empower digital content and e-commerce solutions, including a full array of websites, web applications, and native apps;
• Create and support evidence-based, strategic recommendations based on stakeholder requirements, company initiatives, and qualitative and quantitative research findings;
• Translate complex business requirements into actionable strategies and plans for tactical execution;
• Lead and collaborate with developers, designers, writers, and strategists to produce superior solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder requirements;
• Develop new processes and optimize existing internal processes to improve collaboration, stakeholder participation, documentation practices, and end-user experiences;
• Facilitate and participate in reviews of visual design, UX, and development deliverables;
• Perform as a thought-leader within the organization, activity educating associates and executives about digital opportunities and challenges;
• Demonstrate an innate understanding of visual design, UX, research, frontend, and backend development;
• Align and refine integrated content strategies for web, app, SEO, SEM, and PPC;
• Organize and facilitate workshops, brainstorms, and ideation exercises.
• Demonstrate a broad knowledge of web and app technology ecosystems, with an aptitude for troubleshooting, gap identification, and problem-solving;
• Interview, hire, develop, and coach digital team members;
• Assess and measure website and app availability, performance, and ROI;
• Meet sales and budgetary targets, including customer engagement and retention goals;
• Advocate for the continuous improvement of digital solutions;
• Stay up-to-date on retail and direct-to-consumer e-commerce technology and innovations.
The perfect person will have:
• 10 years or greater of digital strategy, product delivery and management experience;
• Proven work experience as a digital strategist and team leader on a category leading consumer brand/e-commerce brand or through a body of work from a nationally-recognized digital agency
• Demonstrated, deep understanding of visual design, UX, research, frontend, and backend development;
• Ability to manage relationships with third-party partners and external agencies;
• Confidence and integrity to earn internal team trust quickly;
• Familiarity with Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking process methodologies;
• Familiarity with supply chain management and fulfillment;
• Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1;
• Familiarity with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR);
• Service design experience;
• Flexibility in working with a cross-functional team of designers, developers, editors, and content creators;
• Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives;
• Exhibited capacity to convey working arrangements on a variety of assignments under tight due dates;
Some other nice to have’s:
• Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, Marketing, or related fields.;
• Content Management System work experience; e.g. Drupal, Magento, Acquia, etc.;
