Position Summary:
HARMAN is driving the future of the connected lifestyle and is looking for a senior director of corporate communications and content to help us tell our story around the world. From automotive and home to work and mobile, we are elevating experiences to make them more personalized, immersive and meaningful. This creative and resourceful individual will design and execute a global content strategy and leverage our network of communicators to develop stories and merchandise them in innovative and purposeful ways that reach audiences across different platforms and formats. A great writer and expert in channel optimization, segmentation and localization, and measurement, this individual will direct internal, external and social and digital strategies and work closely with division communicators, marketing, customer service, IT, human resources and other functions to mine stories, develop themes and amplify HARMAN’s voice. S/he will lead and inspire teams of creative personnel and content creators to enhance company’s profile, build stakeholder engagement, and influence customer and consumer behavior.

Job Responsibilities:
• Lead and prioritize themes, messages, and demos for HARMAN events and trade shows that span all divisions. Examples include the Consumer Electronics Show and Mobile World Congress.
• Lead the company’s global content strategy: develop, curate, and manage the global editorial calendar by creating internal and external initiatives, campaigns, events that connect divisions and functions
• Identify the best way to tell our stories through online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person.
• Craft news releases on corporate news and repurpose white papers, research for public consumption
• Contribute to Board and Executive Committee Reports by aiding in the creation and editing of presentations and reporting materials
• Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of all corporate communications campaigns by performing competitive analysis
• Direct CSR/Sustainability, internal and external communications programs to ensure alignment and maximum impact, engagement and visibility.
• Lead executive thought leadership strategy
• Work closely with VP Corp Comms on issues management and crisis communications
• Supervise agencies, writers, colleagues on layered programs
• Serve as first point of contact for corporate media inquiries
• Develop standards, processes and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies.
• Be a positive, trusted partner, brand ambassador and connector across the organization and extending to our partners and Samsung colleagues.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field. MA Degree / MBA preferred
• 10 years as a leader in multichannel content creation (publishing, journalism, etc.)
• 10 years creation of compelling messages for different external and internal target demographics
• 10 Years leadership, including remote teams, objective setting, performance management & selection.
• Issues management / crisis communications experience
• International organization experience
Eligibility Requirements:
• Willingness to travel 10-20% of the time
• Willingness to work in an office in Stamford
• Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
