Global Supplier Quality Director - IFCN
Role Purpose:
The Global Supplier Quality Team provide oversight of the Infant Formula Children Nutrition (IFCN) global supplier quality and EMO (External Manufacturing Organization) lifecycle management, from supplier selection and qualification, supplier quality performance to supplier and EMO quality development, working with Global Compliance Performance team setting quality standards relating to supplier management, metrics to drive continuous improvement with suppliers. This team forms critical element of IFCN quality and food safety management strategy.
Scope:
Reporting to Global Quality Director, IFCN, the primary scope of the role is:
1. Operating as part of the Global IFCN Quality Leadership team (GQLT), sets global strategy and plan with GQLT to provide oversight of supplier and EMO to assure compliance to RB IFCN quality standards, policies and procedures for raw materials, packaging materials and Third Party Manufacturing for IFCN products.
2. Ensure robust supplier quality management systems in place and in use
3. Setup audit schedule and ensure timely execution and completion of audits of third party manufacturers and suppliers to assure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
4. Provides critical evaluation of EMO, raw material and packaging component suppliers and MJN sites to assure compliance with appropriate regulations, applicable Good Manufacturing Practices, and RB requirements.
5. Drive effective change control with suppliers and Global Procurement
6. Work with Global Procurement and IFCN GQLT, to set global supplier quality development strategy and action plan to help develop and build capabilities of RB IFCN critical suppliers to meet RB quality requirements
• Define key quality metrics to monitor performances for key suppliers
• Drives effective Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) program with Suppliers and EMOs to avoid occurrence
• Work with cross functional teams and suppliers to proactively identify risks, drive effective mitigation to minimize incoming supplier quality issues and disruptions
• Foster a proactive vs. reactive culture focused on continuous improvement
Monitoring of emerging contaminants, regulatory changes and emerging risks mitigation action tracking
Prepare and support Global Quality Quarterly Management Review meeting
Develop technical capabilities eg on process understanding and control within Quality teams
Work with IFCN QLT to drive quality by design culture, design programs and initiatives to promote quality culture.
Manage section budget, team and people development.
Any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
Main Accountabilities:
• Timely execution of supplier and EMO audits
• Sustainable and robust IFCN supplier quality management systems
• Act as effective risk mitigation in food and quality risk management, to reduce or mitigate risks introduced to IFCN products produced in RB IFCN factories
• Makes recommendations and proactively identify and resolve risks identified with cross functional stakeholders
• Maintenance of scorecard, trend analysis and timely delivery of management reports
Key Challenges:
• Ability for International travel and flexibility with working hours due to the time zones of the associated IFCN factories
• Will need to learn other Health Clusters in event supplier is common across RB businesses
Skills & Experience required:
• Strong communication skills
• Well developed influencing skills. Diplomatic and tactful in difficult supplier situations.
• Highly motivated and confident in external environments. Organised and able to deliver concise written or oral summaries to senior management
• Able to lead on improvement plans with key suppliers, requires a good manufacturing knowledge and an understanding of business processes.
Technical / professional qualifications required:
• Life science degree
• At least 10 years of experience working in a quality and or regulatory compliance function in a Pharmaceutical and Infant Formula related industry.
• Experience in developing and maintaining a robust QMS in Pharmaceutical, or Infant Formula industry.
• Broad understanding of RB Health – IFCN manufacturing operations business.
• Experience with the use of Lean tools and operational performance metrics to drive improvement.
• Experience collaborating with various functional roles within Manufacturing, Quality, R&D and Marketing/Sales to develop strategies and execute action plans to resolve critical issues.
• Experience communicating to a diverse audience, at multiple layers within and outside the company, through various formats.
• Experienced auditor, with ability to carry Lead Auditor status within RB
