Marketing Director - Healthy Start F&V
Job Description

We operate from a position of strength in this segment in globally, based on our strong brands and innovative products across Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Kevita and Naked in the United States and abroad.
More importantly, we have an opportunity to accelerate the growth of these businesses and grow PepsiCo’s share of emerging categories in the years ahead.
To achieve this, the Director F&V Innovation and new Business Models, will be tasked with leading our fruit and vegetable innovation agenda for Coconut Water and Juice Concentrate Model through identification of key consumer trends and working with lead markets to align and deliver the commercialization of these opportunities. Additionally, this individual will help drive greater efficiency across the global F&V business through sharing of critical learnings and leveraging R&D and consumer insights across
markets.
S/he will help transform growth of the category while working closely with the nutrition leadership teams globally to identify white space opportunities, process optimizations and potential areas of expansion for existing platforms.
This individual will need to blend strong internal capabilities with creative, external perspectives. The successful candidate will champion new initiatives that demonstrate breakthrough thinking that will drive critical growth across the F&V category globally.
Main Accountabilities include:
• Create multi-year/multi-region Functional Juice innovation pipeline
• Develop and launch Functional Juice “shots” in WESA and NAN under Tropicana and Naked brands respectively
• Rollout existing Functional Juice innovation across all of ESSA, establishing clear expansion strategy and brand architecture to support it
• Partner with Mexico BU, franchise team and the LATAM region to commercialize the first Juice concentrate model for PepsiCo in 2019
• Partner with MENA region to launch Functional Nectars in Saudi, UAE, Egypt, and Lebanon starting in Q4 2019
• Lead the DNM global process to build forward compatibility and expand the Juice concentrate model to the rest of LATAM, India, MENA, APAC and CIS regions
• Significant effort required to provide overarching strategic framework and consistent consumer understandings to ensure that the Concentrate Model and Functional Juice platform programs offer synergies for the business and customer vs. offering one-off programmatic innovations
• Work with R&D team and PGCS in Cork to develop winning consumer formulations that are compatible with the existing manufacturing capabilities so that any Concentrate Model solution identified is commercializable with relatively small (<$1MM) Capex by the bottlers in the various regions/markets
• Leverage brand positioning, key consumer insights, procurement and supply chain capabilities to drive Functional Juice expansion to identified priority launch markets
• Create an innovation framework and develop the innovation pipeline for Concentrate model that is executable within existing bottler capabilities
• Help innovation launches in key geographies by supporting the local teams, especially LATAM and AMENA, as key growth markets with nascent local teams and capabilities
• Ensure best practices are implemented and the highest quality of suppliers are leveraged across platforms from testing to commercialization
• Develop guardrails on how Functional Juice and Concentrate Model innovation is to be handled, including the alignment process within the organization and how projects should be prioritized
• Work with the sales organization to ensure capabilities and scorecards are in place to enable superior execution of both mainstream and targeted initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
• BA required (MBA strongly preferred)
• Consumer packaged goods experience with a track record of identifying and delivering against key strategic priorities
• Thought leadership and commercial implementation with a track record of developing and delivering high impact and successful consumer product innovations or initiative, especially in the F&V or healthy snacking space
• Highly analytical, motivated, decisive thought leader with excellent managerial skills
• Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine question, and influence multiple decision makers
• Strong focus on talent development, especially beyond immediate reporting lines and sphere of influence
• Highly collaborative and demonstrated success building trust based relationships across different cultures
• Prior experience (internally or externally) working in and defining the strategy agenda for a nutrition category or organization across geographies
• Track record of taking calculated risks for the long-term benefit of the organization
• Global acumen and curiosity to understand global macro-trends and potential impacts on nutrition category
• Communication skills that is able to educate and influence management and senior leaders to act in a desired manner through written and verbal communication
• Analytical and negotiating skills as evidence by high intelligence, strong financial and analytical capabilities and the proven ability to develop, sell and drive suitable partnerships, alliances, or other transactions to closure
• Passion for nutrition and wellness categories demonstrated through prior work experience and / or personal aspirations and behaviors
• Highly developed Influencing skills – must be able to influence decision making at GM level in the regions, often remotely, with individuals who will typically be more senior in the organizational
• An understanding of the PepsiCo bottler system is not a pre-requisite, but would be highly valued
• Entrepreneurial mindset and able to make things happen with limited resources is a critical skill
