Position Summary
Role and Responsibilities
• Overall Responsibilities: The Finance Director acts as the key financial contact for the Best Buy and Target’s customer teams and is an active participant in the internal and external annual planning process. This leader collaborates with customer finance personnel to understand and establish fiscal scorecards with shared metrics. He/she works with the sales team and Finance to ensure all policies are followed regarding financial negotiations and agreements. He/she conducts monthly reviews to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and provides proactive solutions to achieve desired business results.
• He/she leverages current best approaches provided by the Sales and Product Marketing teams to create competitive advantage for Samsung products. The Finance Senior Manager reports to the Best Buy General Manager.
• Specific Responsibilities include for both the Target and Best Buy Accounts:
• Reviews and analyzes P&L as well as trade spend to recommend ROI optimization; encompasses supply chain logistics in addition to traditional sell thru analysis
• Manages the relationship with the customer to develop financially based goals and objectives.
• Manages the MDF budgets including accrual rate requests, PUMI allocation, on-going payments and balance of year pacing
• Ensures timely analysis, response and communication internal and external across the post audit process to eliminate financial risk exposure and unauthorized deductions
• Secures No Return Allowance (NRA) programs on key product groups and analyzes existing NRA rates and recommend adjustments
• Negotiates and re-negotiates favorable terms with carriers on master purchase agreements/contracts, including contract cost, analyses and adherence
• Manages annual contracts/fees and on-going performance assessments
• Participates in the cross-functional annual planning process to produce desired business results
• Quantifies the impact on Samsung of customer category strategies and initiatives
• Develops plans for improvement in non-performing trade (i.e., UCD, unsalable)
• Provides leadership, direction and coaching to the Finance team
• Take the lead for the teams in developing presentations for T2T meetings internal and external
• Communicates review outputs with sales leadership and works for proactive solutions
• Summarizes status of customer contribution for current month and year-to-date
• Analyzes the impact of Brand's customer-specific consumer and shopper promotional activity
Skills and Qualifications
• Provide the teams with a deep understanding of the P&L and ROI analysis
• Contribution toward quarterly and annual revenue, profit and market share goals
• Joint fiscal scorecards with shared customer metrics
• Recognized by the customer as an industry expert in finance
• Preferred Requirements
• Master’s degree in business, finance, or related field
• 15 years experience in financial analysis, budgeting, planning, and reporting
• 12+ years experience managing direct reports
• Financial systems (e.g., SAP) experience
• Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) AND mobile OR electronics industries
