YOUR MISSION:
Directs, leads, and manages all aspects of supplier quality for the organization.
Provides customer liaison, maintains customer satisfaction through programming, communication, coordination & implementation of continuous improvements to quality systems.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
• Provides timely, relevant and actionable management reporting for supplier quality performance, open issues and potential constraints affecting production at the Company.
• Supports incoming supplier quality teams for the Company’s global manufacturing locations. Promotes objectivity and consistency in reporting Supplier PPM metrics from global manufacturing locations.
• Responsible for the development of objectives and strategies for the business unit. Monitors business unit performance against business plan.
• Plans and coordinates organizational activities, establishing priorities and sequences to meet the designated goals and objectives.
• Responsible for Continuous Improvement to Quality Systems. Plans and administers budgets on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
• Participates in the development of quality systems policy and administers approved procedures.
• Manages activities relative to Company quality system problems and projects either directly or through assigned staff.
• Assumes responsibility for teaching, mentoring, leading, and providing direction to employees. This will include setting clear and measurable goals, standards of performance and plan-do-check-act methodology for timely follow-up and resolution of open issues.
• Fosters team building, employee morale and job satisfaction, efficient quality procedures, and global integration of quality best practices.
• Reviews data on sales, profitability, productivity, quality, finances, staffing, etc. for business unit or assigned area utilizing this data to make business structure and strategy recommendations.
• Responsible for maintaining expenditures and budgets to the extent authorized and has the responsibility for such areas as inventory and head count controls.
MUST-HAVES:
• BS in Engineering - BSME, BSIT, BSMFG or related field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing experience with at least five (5) years in Quality Management.
• Five (5) years of significant management responsibility.
• Automotive Industry experience required.
• Specific experience in a high volume electronics-manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Manufacturing process expertise and/or domain-level knowledge desired in one or more of the following:
• Integrated Circuits, Printed Circuit Boards, LCD’s
• Competence in automotive contractual agreements, UCC, dispute management and/or mediation procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Six Sigma, ISO/TS16949, QS-9000 - FEMA - SPC & 8-D Quality Systems.
• Must have good understanding of quality approaches.
• Previous work experience in a cross-cultural, international environment preferred.
• Experience in a Japanese business culture a big plus
• Proficiency with Internet skills to monitor customer quality and service websites.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
