Based in Toledo, Ohio, Libbey Inc. is one of the largest glass tableware manufacturers in the world. Libbey operates manufacturing plants in the U.S., Mexico, China, Portugal and the Netherlands. In existence since 1818, the company supplies tabletop products to retail, foodservice and business-to-business customers in over 100 countries.
The Region Sales Director will be responsible for managing and growing our total foodservice business in Libbey’s key Eastern US Region. This includes managing and developing the District Sales Managers and their team members, who assist in Libbey’s coverage for this region. The Region Sales Director must maintain strong customer relationships, offer outstanding customer service, generate required sales growth, effectively forecast and develop business plans and strategies for the region and successfully sell Libbey marketing programs, products and promotions at the Distributor and end user level.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and plan Libbey’s business operations in the region, to achieve all financial goals
• Leadership, training, coaching and development of all District Sales Managers. Must keep this group productive and motivated, while monitoring their overall sales effectiveness and level of support for Libbey.
• Ensure that all business operations in this region are done in accordance with company standards
• Facilitate and prepare monthly reports; review and analyze performance data to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels
• Submit monthly forecasts
• Maintain our existing customers and develop new business through sales efforts, primarily at the end user level
• Maintain a high level of relevant trade and product knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with prospects
• Plan and execute lead generation campaigns
• Support Libbey’s marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, etc.
• Communicate regularly with Libbey team members on product and service opportunities, special developments, competitive information, or feedback gathered through field activity.
• Review Sales dashboards and coach District Sales Managers accordingly
• Develop and maintain an annual region business plan outlining strategies to achieve company goals and district sales targets
• Foster new business development opportunities in the region
• Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned, such as participating in customer trade shows and sales meetings, assist with payment collections, address service and shipping related concerns, etc.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 8- 10 years direct selling experience, preferably within the tabletop and/or foodservice industries
• Highly competitive sales personality, with a “passion for winning”
• Hands on leader with previous success leading results-oriented sales teams
• Experience training, coaching, mentoring, motivating and leading a sales organization
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, with good judgement, organization and decision making skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record required
