Director, Sales (Large)
• Develop and manage a high potential sales team for Goose Island beer across a large geography
• Work closely with marketing to achieve all sales related objectives including volume, share, distribution, and shelf space
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and leadership to achieve enterprise-wide goals
• Ensure continued success in home and away markets through creating plans to meet volume and distribution goals while holding local managers accountable
• Lead sales team by setting expectations for call frequency, inventory maintenance, display care, point of sale placements, share of shelf, stock and inventory levels, promotional activities, and follow up on delivery issues
• Review target accounts to ensure brands are performing to expectations while establishing incentives to exceed those expectations
• Develop sales forecasts and monthly projections
• Monitor sales and marketing expenses
• Introduce and sell in new items and packages--designing programs to assure a successful launch through the sales force
• Effectively partner with wholesalers - building positive relationships
• Manage a geographically disperse sales force
• 5+ years of Sales or Business Development experience
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
• Experience in the craft beer industry strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success in consistently meeting sales objectives
• Proven track record of establishing and maintaining long-term business relationships with executive level partners
• Ability to understand and articulate strategic and financial value propositions and concepts
• Exemplary teaching and training ability
• A history of developing a solid team of sales performers
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as the confidence to represent the company in both formal and informal settings
• Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills
• A love of craft beer!
