The Director – Data & Analytics will be responsible for partnering with business leaders to deliver data foundations & insights across Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality & Service functions. The Director will lead the development and execution of advance analytics initiatives, developing the next generation of advance analytics that will help Kohler Company compete in the digital world. This will be a global development and support role across all Kohler Co. businesses so the candidate must be open to travel. Depending on project requirements the candidate can expect to travel 10-15% and will include international travel.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
• Establish vision, identify and champion internal / external best practices, tools and ideas to improve data and related platforms and services.
• Provide thought leadership into the design of Kohler Company’s future state vision for competing in the digital world, alongside other leaders and stakeholders within the business.
• Drive operational excellence by using data and analytics to drive visibility, insights and actions to facilitate decision making.
• Manage a team of Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Architects and Sr. Systems Architects to identify opportunities and drive data insights.
• Lead cross-functional teams and provide business / functional perspective to data science projects, and support problem scoping, structuring, and resourcing.
• Lead all data related activities (data discovery, cleansing, data prep & modeling in big data environment) to support development of new data science.
• Develop robust business cases to support and prioritize new concepts/opportunities
• Develop presentations to communicate vision and concepts/opportunities to all levels of the organization
• Engage and influence leaders across Kohler Company functions to build alignment analytics strategy vision, design and implementation
• Lead the development and support of systems related to Data Warehousing, Data Visualization & Advance Analytics (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning etc)
• Manage a portfolio of IT and business projects that will impact the effectiveness of the entire organization.
Skills/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics & Applied Statistics
• 10 years of experience working with Data Management, Business Intelligence or Data & Analytics.
• 7+ years of experience with directing staff and establishing priorities with management.
• Successfully lead advance analytics initiatives leveraging Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning concepts with high impact to the business functions.
• Working knowledge of Big Data programming environments and Competency in major analytics software packages and programming environments (e.g. Hadoop / Map-Reduce, Python, R, Java etc. in Big data platforms)
• Working knowledge of database technologies, including Oracle, SAP, SQL / NoSQL platforms, visualization applications such as Power BI, Tableau etc.
• Understands concepts of setting and driving architecture direction. Familiar with elements of gathering architecture requirements.
• Significant depth of expertise and track record of accomplishments in project work in one or more IT functional areas.
