Fender Marketingis a division of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (“FMIC”) locatedin Hollywood, CA. Fender Digital Products is a new division making apps, websites, platforms and tools to compliment the guitars, amps and audio gear that Fender makes. We are looking for an experienced and talented Digital Art Directorto join the Marketing team, designing campaign assets and experiences for Fender Music Digital Products.

The Digital Art Directorwill be responsible for design assets across print, retail, web and mobile platforms for Fender. You will be joining our global brand design team where you will represent the voice of Fender Marketing within a broader team. A strong understanding of user centered design and responsive design patterns is a must, as well as the ability to lead the rest of the team in this thinking. You will partner with UI/UX designers, digital product designers, product owners, stakeholders, subject matter experts and engineers across Fender, to define, design and deploy new products. The role combines creating beautiful, engaging customer facing experiences with helping shape the overall visual identity for consumer facing marketing for our product offerings. It requires knowledge of visual design trends; engineering and development processes; hands-on expertise designing and prototyping with the latest design tools; and exceptional communication skills. The ideal candidate is an expert in today’s digital product landscape, creative execution about being an empathetic manifestation of the needs of our users.
About the job:
• Work with product owners and engineering as well as marketing and traditional product counterparts to ideate and execute high concept product campaigns.
• Produce UI/UX deliverables (e.g. IA, user flows, wireframes, lo/high-fidelity mock-ups, etc.) that support the marketing of digital products
• Work with the brand design team, adhering to and contributing to the Fender Digital style guide and maintaining UI/UX standards across all product lines and platforms
• Ensure teams follow best practices of UI/UX
• Work with Marketing/Communications to drive brand consistency across outbound products
• Establish and push design exploration, R&D and experimentation through rapid prototyping and testing
• Execute against KPIs with the marketing and product teams
• Work with the eCommerce team to merchandise products for sale online
• Work with photographers, retouchers & producers to produce lifestyle video shoots, product photo shoots & eCommerce assets, from storyboard to on-set visual direction
What you need:
• 5+ years of professional experience as a digital designer, including a strong mobile competency (iOS, Android, responsive web) and Social platform creative guidelines
• An eye for photo and video Art Direction and experience working on set and in studio
• An exceptional individual contributor portfolio of UI/UX work and visual design work
• A proven ability to ideate and pitch strong campaign concepts
• A team player who is just as at home ideating on a white board as getting in the trenches to do the production work necessary to bring a product to market
• Must be open to and eager to execute on cross-functional feedback in the interest of delivering comprehensive solutions
• Expertise and fundamental understanding of the intricacies and opportunities of designing for different screen sizes
• Success designing, delivering and collaborating in a high growth, fast paced environment
• Conversant in current technologies and an active appetite to learn about new things
• Mastery of tools of the trade (Sketch, Adobe CS, etc.)
• Strong written, oral and visual communication skills
• Experience with music, notation or audio visualization
• You’ve worked in an agile environment, familiar with SCRUM, agile or Lean methodologies
• You are a self-starter and work well independently
• You’ve worked in an entertainment or media company before
