Position Title: Director - Corporate Accounting
Location: Norwalk, CT
Reports to: Assistant Controller
The Corporate Accounting Director will be responsible for accounting and financial reporting, both internal and external. The position will assist with coordination in the areas of audit oversight, planning/forecasting, treasury/cash management, legal entity transactions and acquisitions/divestitures accounting. The position is also responsible for assistance in maintaining the company’s overall financial policies and procedures to ensure GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. A principal responsibility will be to ensure the quality of financial reporting throughout the organization, including implementing process efficiencies.
Job Duties:
• Lead the department to achieve a timely month-end financial close;
• Supervise the daily activity of staff including, but not limited to, reviewing journal entries and monthly account reconciliations;
• Create, post and review journal entries into both the general ledger and consolidation system;
• Create, maintain and review general ledger account reconciliations;
• Review general ledger monthly to ensure the accuracy of postings and adjust as required;
• Work closely with the Controller to assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, internal accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles;
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors on document requests;
• Manage financial system integration projects for various applications; and
• Participate in special projects as requested by management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting / Finance. CPA preferred.
• A minimum of 10-15 years of related work experience, with experience working in a consumer packaged goods (CPG), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and/or consumer durables industry preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel required.
• Prior SAP, Hyperion Financial Management and Blackline experience preferred.
