• Preferred location for this position to be based out of is either Nashville, TN or Atlanta, GA. *
The Director, National Chain Accounts is responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with large, multi-location foodservice chain customers. This position will cover a critical Southeastern US region, with heavy customer base in Nashville, TN and Atlanta, GA.
This position represents the entire range of Libbey’s products and services to assigned chain customers. This role will lead the customer account planning cycle, ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met through regular joint strategic planning sessions. The Director, National Chain Accounts will focus on the headquarters and key buying locations of assigned accounts, while coordinating closely with field associates assigned to these customers’ other locations.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key chain and multi-unit customers, primarily at the end user level
• Oversee all aspects of category management, including data analysis and special projects
• Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
• Proactively lead joint strategic account planning sessions that develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones
• Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis, including sales leads and new business opportunities
• Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, competitive information and field actively feedback, to appropriate internal Libbey departments
• Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary departments
• Develop and maintain a direct relationship with internal & external customers to share and request information, provide contract data and develop contract price proposals
• Prepare and deliver concise account presentations to shareholders and business partners/executives, utilizing sales and marketing data as well as consumer research
• Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute product price concession strategies, complex contracting strategies, develop business processes, system and reporting requirements
• Achieve strategic customer objectives defined by company management
• Drive process, promotion and product innovation, setting our customers apart from their competitors
• Train and educate customers’ sales organizations on Libbey’s products and programs
• Work closely with Libbey’s Customer Relations team to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction and expedited problem resolution
• Utilize Libbey tools and systems to house customer and prospect contact activities
• Actively participate in industry events, tradeshows and company sales meetings
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5 years of relevant sales experience, including experience with multi-unit and chain accounts
• Must be willing to travel up to 40%
• Ability to effectively work independently, plan and prioritize sales responsibilities to maximize productivity
• Experience managing and growing national accounts, which includes developing concise sales strategies
• Experience developing and implementing impactful customer strategies and strong analytical skills to interpret data and market conditions
• Ability to examine current customer orders to anticipate future needs, and proactively educate customers on new company offerings
• Strong negotiation, sales, business planning and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, to execute and contribute as a broader team member
• Goal driven mentality and a passion for winning – ambitious in setting goals and deliverables
