Right now, we are seeking a Compliance Systems and Analytics Director. In this role you will help manage one of the critical components of the Company’s global Compliance program as well as assist in the implementation and messaging of the department’s technical changes. In addition, you will be part of the development of processes, systems, and strategies related to Western Union compliance with international laws, government regulations and industry best practices. You will be responsible for leading interaction between the global team responsible for central technical solutions and the Compliance Department in areas such as governance processes, Internal Audit, Regulators, regulations and other third-parties. This position will support the Global Head of Compliance Systems and Analytics directly on many key initiatives and decisions. You will also help with strategic projects and leadership for future direction. This role has a significant impact on corporate and department policy globally across numerous forums. This position will support Compliance Systems and Analytics program including policies, procedures, Company governance, internal and external testing, compliance records retentions and related projects. In other words, you will provide strategic leadership, coordination and communication between the global Compliance requirements and the regions for establishing consistent program implementation. You will develop and manage ongoing relationships with global, regional and cross-functional business, audit and operations partners. This position will serve a critical role in the Compliance Systems and Analytics organization with regard to training, mentoring, maintaining a positive work environment, maintaining positive and effective communication among the leadership team, assisting staff in overcoming complex challenges, and solving for issues independently as they arise.
In addition you will:
• Manage the voice of the customer across the Compliance Systems and Analytics group
• Develop and leverage adequate expertise in a wide variety of Compliance subject matter topics
• Coordinate with the Compliance training team to design the right training materials on global compliance requirements by driving change management across teams
• Liaise with regional and cross-functional process owners and stakeholders for adequate implementation of policies and standards
• Coordination of required work effort under the Settlement Agreements with the Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and New York Department of Financial Services
• Lead group interaction with all tests (Internal Testing, Audits, Regulators and other third-parties) through the testing process to the closure of any findings or action plans
• Maintain and develop relationships throughout the Company to support group functions
• Manage colleagues throughout Compliance Systems and Analytics as well as other groups in support of tests and other projects prioritized by the Global Compliance department
• Create and maintain a positive and effective work environment, where employees understand their value to the team, and the organization as a whole
• Understand the priority and severity of issues as they arise, responding independently, accordingly, developing realistic solutions before escalation
• Support positive and effective communication among the leaders of the Compliance Systems and Analytics organization
• Support the Compliance Systems and Analytics organization, acting as a trusted and respected leader with whom staff feel comfortable discussing complex issues
• Lead remediation of issues/exceptions identified by examiners or auditors
• Produce and manage the production of key metrics, dashboards, management reporting, Board reporting and other related tools
• Represent Compliance Systems and Analytics at Compliance governance committees and other forums
• Provide support and direction to Compliance Systems and Analytics colleagues on governance matters such as data retention, Compliance governance interaction and other item
• Support the Compliance Systems and Analytics leaders and fulfil delegated responsibilities as needed
• Support direct reports in successful execution of their duties
• Manage special projects needs as assigned by the Compliance Systems & Analytics Leader
Qualifications
• Four-year college degree required. Graduate level education and degree or law degree preferred
• Excellent writing and review skills
• Ability to issue spot and problem solve independently
• Knowledge of Western Union’s Compliance department preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills
• Preferred credentials as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent certification
• Understanding of anti-money laundering regulations within the banking/financial services industry
• Preferred experience in regulatory oversight, general financial compliance, risk-based compliance, Bank Secrecy Act or anti-money laundering compliance
• Positive solutions oriented experience and history within a large group setting
